We are looking for several visitor guides to join our operations team for 16 to 24 hours per week.
Are you looking for a varied job in a friendly team? During their shifts, our visitor guides perform a variety of tasks in the Espresso Bar, at the information desk, at the ticket counter, and in the museum shop. No two days are the same! You’ll also occasionally assist with the Allard Pierson’s own programming and commercial rental activities.
As a visitor guide at the Allard Pierson, you are the face of the museum. You’ll welcome visitors with enthusiasm, assist them at the information desk and ticket counter, happily serve a delicious cappuccino in our café, and inspire visitors in the museum shop. You’ll ensure that every visitor feels welcome and leaves the museum with a smile.

You have strong communication skills, work well with others, and feel at home in a dynamic cultural environment. For this position, we are offering a contract for 16 to 24 hours per week for a period of one year, with a two-month probationary period. If you prove to be a good fit, this will be followed by a permanent position.
Depending on your relevant experience at the start of employment, your salary will range from €3,004 to €3,465 gross per month, based on a full 38-hour workweek. This does not include the 8% vacation pay and 8.3% year-end bonus. TheCollective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universitiesapplies.

The Allard Pierson in Amsterdam is the research institute and museum that manages the University of Amsterdam’s heritage collections.
