Cyberattacks pose a growing threat to nautical and logistics processes in Dutch seaports. To proactively address cyber threats, the Dutch Seaports Industry Association (BOZ), the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and the National Cyber Security Authority (NCTV) have jointly established an approach: the Cyber Strategy for Dutch Seaports. This has resulted in Ferm Seaports, a partnership for seaports of national importance. Ferm Seaports is the knowledge center for cyber resilience and robustness in Dutch seaports. Working at Ferm Seaports offers the opportunity to be part of a highly qualified team that improves the digital resilience of the seaports.

What will you be doing?

Do you see patterns where others see only noise? Does analyzing complex threat data from both open and closed sources energize you? And do you know better than anyone how to think like a hacker but communicate like a consultant? Then we’re looking for you.

As a Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) Specialist at Ferm-zeehavens, you’ll dive into the world of cyber threats, geopolitical developments, and data-driven insights every day. You know how to turn fragmented information into a clear threat picture and translate this into concrete recommendations that organizations in Dutch seaports can actually use to guide their actions.

What are you going to do?

As a CTI specialist, you serve as the link between technology and the organization. You extract valuable insights from complex data and translate them into clear, actionable threat intelligence for organizations in Dutch seaports.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Help build a Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) that enables the exchange of CTI among relevant stakeholders in seaports
  • Analyzing open and closed sources to gain insight into geopolitical and cyber threats
  • Establishing links between threat intelligence and organizations in Dutch seaports
  • Preparing threat assessments at the operational, tactical, and strategic levels
  • Translating technical information into understandable and actionable insights for various target audiences
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders throughout the entire organization

Your responsibilities

  • Developing and disseminating threat assessments that guide security measures for organizations in Dutch seaports
  • Conducting CTI investigations and identifying new IOCs and TTPs
  • Analyze and interpret malicious activities and map them to frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
  • Translating analyses into operational, tactical, and strategic reports
  • Selecting, Building, and Managing Data Within the Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP)
  • Contribute to the further development of OSINT, Forensics, and Incident Response

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact. Your analyses will form the basis for decisions that strengthen the digital security of Dutch seaports. You’ll work at the intersection of intelligence, technology, and strategy—exactly where your expertise makes a difference.

What do we offer?

Great coworkers: At our company, you don’t just work alongside your coworkers—you also get to enjoy (if you want to) a vibrant social life outside of work thanks to our diverse and active employee networks.

An attractive, independent role: We encourage you to take the initiative, and your impact is immediately noticeable. This is your chance to make a legendary contribution to Europe’s largest port.

Flexible workweek: Enjoy a 36-hour hybrid workweek that promotes a healthy work-life balance.

Training and Development Opportunities: A wide range of training courses and programs to help you grow professionally.

Vitality and Well-Being: Discounts on your gym membership and fresh fruit at work. A workplace that cares about your needs—with a focus on health, well-being, and accessibility.

Competitive salary: Depending on your education and experience, we offer a starting salary of up to €5,881 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek, with opportunities for advancement up to €7,351 gross per month.

Travel Expense Reimbursement: Whether you travel by car, bicycle, or (first-class) public transportation, we’ll provide appropriate reimbursement.

Flexible compensation budget: 19.6% on top of your gross monthly salary, consisting of a vacation allowance (8%), a thirteenth-month bonus (8.33%), a wellness allowance (2.3%), and an additional budget (0.97%). You can have this budget paid out early or use it for things like a bicycle, additional pension contributions, extra vacation hours, supplementary training costs, or a sustainable investment.

Prospect of a permanent position: If both parties are satisfied, you will receive a permanent contract after the first year.

Excellent pension plan: Through the ABP (average-earnings plan), for which we cover about 70% of the premium. Secure a legendary future.

Company-issued laptop and cell phone: Always have the right tools on hand to do your job to the best of your ability.

  • For more information about our terms of employment, please refer to our collective bargaining agreement.
  • An integrity review and online screening are part of the selection process. Valicare conducts this screening on behalf of the Port Authority.
