At Theater Rotterdam’s Production House, we work every day to develop the next generation of creators, ideas, and productions. Are you someone who can play an important supporting role in this effort with a broad perspective, attention to detail, and organizational acumen? If so, we’re looking for you.
The words “I am because of you” succinctly summarize Theater Rotterdam’s (TR) vision. The realization that all interactions with others make us human guides TR’s direction. Since 2021, under the leadership of Artistic Director Alida Dors, we have embraced diversity of voices. In our artistic practice, diverse voices, languages, and forms come together—from our creators, but also from our audience as active participants. It is our mission to make these differences productive and to allow them to enrich one another. As a theater, we are the directors of encounters—we create frameworks for temporary yet memorable fusions of worlds. As one of the largest theater companies in the Netherlands, TR performs on national and international stages and at festivals. We are a home for established and mid-career theater makers, as well as emerging artists. What unites them is reciprocity: drawing on everyone’s perspective, we work together to explore what theater can mean.
The Artistic Office is the heart of the organization. This is where creators’ plans are turned into concrete, actionable projects. The Artistic Office brings together artistic preparation, production, planning, sales, and audience engagement. This is where productions and projects take shape and where we build our audience in the Netherlands and beyond. Within the Artistic Office, the Production House holds a special place. The Production House is the place where the new generation of creators and ideas develop, where artistic projects take shape, and where there is room for experimentation, research, and growth. Here, we collaborate with creators at various stages of their development—from initial concept to presentation—and create the conditions to make that development possible. As a Business Coordinator, you contribute to this practice by helping to lay the business, financial, and organizational groundwork for projects and initiatives.
As a Business Coordinator, you’ll support the business, financial, and organizational processes related to creators, projects, and development initiatives within Productiehuis. The role lies at the intersection of artistic development and practical organization: from budgets and planning to contracts, grant information, and internal coordination. In a dynamic environment where many projects run simultaneously, you are someone who maintains an overview, helps monitor priorities, and independently identifies and follows up on actions. You actively contribute to the progress of projects and initiatives. Working closely with artists, production managers, and colleagues within the Artistic Office, you help create the conditions in which artistic projects can develop. You work closely with the Production House Business Coordinator and support the implementation and progress of a wide range of artistic projects.
A varied role at the heart of a leading theater, where you’ll contribute directly to the development of artists and projects. You’ll be part of a dedicated and passionate team within the Artistic Office, where collaboration, exchange, and learning are central.
You work in an organization that fosters growth and where different perspectives and experiences come together—entirely in the spirit of “I am because of you.”
The gross salary for this position ranges from €3,075 to €3,610 (Scale V – Theater & Dance Collective Bargaining Agreement) based on full-time employment, depending on experience.
