Would you like to help raise the profile and strengthen the positioning of Felix Meritis, Rode Hoed, and De Nieuwe Liefde? Are you a marketer with a keen sense of current events, media, and audiences? Do you know how to turn a program into a story that appeals to journalists, partners, and visitors? If so, we’re looking for you. Amerpodia is looking for a (mid-level/senior) Marketing & Communications Specialist to firmly put our programming and venues on the map. You’ll develop campaigns, maintain press contacts, generate publicity, and ensure that the stories of Felix Meritis, Rode Hoed, De Nieuwe Liefde, and Amerpodia reach the media and the public.
About Amerpodia
Felix Meritis, Rode Hoed, and De Nieuwe Liefde together form Amerpodia. From these three iconic venues, we organize programs that contribute to social enrichment, cultural renewal, and public discourse. Felix Meritis brings together art, science, technology, and ethics. De Nieuwe Liefde is a hub for language, literature, and meaning, and the Rode Hoed serves as a platform for debate, reflection, and dialogue. Through our programs, we play an important role in the cultural life of Amsterdam and beyond.
What will you be doing?
- You will help shape the image and brand positioning of the three venues, while taking into account their individual identities and the cohesion within Amerpodia as a whole.
- You will develop and organize marketing campaigns for programs, series, and festivals for the three different venues. You will have a specific focus on the Rode Hoed.
- You will develop a targeted approach to reach various target audiences, both offline and online.
- You maintain relationships with journalists, the media, cultural partners, and other relevant networks.
- You will write press releases, newsletters, and other texts that help raise the profile of our programming.
- You analyze our audience reach, media results, and campaign performance, and use these insights to drive improvements.
What do we expect from you?
- You’ll have a visible presence in our venues. You’ll attend events, gather stories from creators and visitors, and quickly turn them into engaging content and marketing campaigns.
- You work as part of a team. You collaborate with colleagues and enjoy working together to achieve the best results.
- You actively research (potential) target audiences, social trends, and Amsterdam’s cultural landscape, and translate these insights into effective communication and a targeted approach.
Who are you?
- You are a strategic marketer with a keen sense of current events. You understand how the media works, write with ease, and get a boost of energy from building visibility and reputation.
- You have at least three years of experience in PR, communications, or marketing, preferably in the cultural, journalism, or social sectors.
- You have proven experience in press and media relations and have a relevant network.
- You write clear and compelling copy. You know how to craft stories that resonate with both the press and the public.
- You think strategically, but you also like to roll up your sleeves and get to work.
- You work in an organized manner, independently, and take the initiative.
- You enjoy working with colleagues, program producers, and external partners.
- You are flexible and don't mind attending evening events on a regular basis.
- You speak and write Dutch and English fluently.

What do we offer?
