A key role in a newly merged organization where you’ll help shape the culture, foster collaboration, and build the future of WoonWest.
WoonWest was formed through the merger of two housing authorities and is currently in a unique phase. We are working toward a single organization, a single culture, and a single way of collaborating. Much of this is already firmly in place, but there is still plenty of room to contribute ideas, make improvements, and help set the direction.
That is why we are looking for a Strategic HR Advisor who wants to help shape the next phase of WoonWest. Someone who can think strategically alongside the executive board and management, but who also thrives on implementing changes in practice. You’ll be a visible presence within the organization, connecting people and building support for change. In doing so, you’ll help WoonWest become even more professional, foster employee development, and help build a future-proof, learning organization.
WoonWest is a housing authority in Westland and Midden-Delfland with approximately 5,000 homes and about 50 employees. We provide affordable housing and livable neighborhoods. In doing so, we contribute every day to addressing one of the greatest social challenges of our time: affordable housing.
Since the merger, we have continued to build an organization centered on collaboration, camaraderie, and commitment. We are large enough to make a social impact and small enough to know each other personally. It is precisely this combination that makes WoonWest an organization where you can make a difference, be recognized, and achieve results together.
As a Strategic HR Advisor, you serve as a sounding board for the board of directors, management, supervisors, and employees on a wide range of HR issues. No two days are the same. One day you might be brainstorming with the management team about the organization’s direction; the next, you might be guiding a change initiative, advising on complex personnel issues, or working on the further development of HR. You think ahead, identify trends, and translate them into policies and concrete improvements that contribute to a future-proof organization. In doing so, you maintain a visible presence within the organization, actively seek to connect with colleagues, and stay informed about what’s happening on the front lines.
Your responsibilities will include:
At the same time, you’re firmly grounded in practical work. In addition to strategic tasks, you’ll also be responsible for day-to-day HR consulting and a wide range of operational HR issues, such as recruitment and managing employee absences. It’s precisely this combination of strategic advising and hands-on implementation that makes this role versatile and challenging. You’ll have the freedom to set the direction, implement improvements, and make a lasting impact.
You’ll be part of Team Staf, a small and dedicated team with short lines of communication, plenty of room for initiative, and a culture where colleagues help one another and share knowledge. With the current HR advisor’s upcoming retirement, you’ll play a key role in the next phase of HR at WoonWest. You’ll help shape the strategic HR agenda, further professionalize HR processes, and prepare the organization for the future.
You are an experienced HR professional who thrives on helping organizations evolve. You identify opportunities, bring structure to the process, and translate strategic issues into practical solutions. You switch effortlessly between strategy and execution. In addition, you closely follow developments in the HR field and apply them in practice. You view digitalization as an opportunity to organize HR more intelligently and efficiently, and you use data to provide sound advice. You offer advice—both when asked and on your own initiative—whenever you identify opportunities or risks.
With your engaging and approachable style, you know how to get people on board with change and build support. Your colleagues see you as knowledgeable, committed, and pragmatic. You enjoy working with others and are willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
You may also recognize yourself in the following:
You’ll have the opportunity to help build a young organization formed through a merger. You’ll have a say in key organizational issues and plenty of freedom to further shape the HR function. Since not everything has been finalized yet, your ideas, initiative, and expertise will truly make a difference.
Would you like to apply your HR expertise within an organization that makes a social impact and offers plenty of opportunities for growth?
