Stadsschouwburg Utrecht is looking for a Corporate Marketer (28–32 hours/week) starting October 1

Can you help enhance the Stadsschouwburg’s image as an organization in the eyes of partners, venue rental clients, and the Utrecht business community? If so, we’re looking for you, and we’d love to work with you to build a stronger brand and increase visibility for our hospitality, venue rental, partnerships, friends, charitable causes, and sponsors.

About the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht

Stadsschouwburg Utrecht is an open and welcoming venue for anyone who loves theater and the performing arts. We present a wide range of national and international productions across all genres. We also organize special projects, often in collaboration with other venues, festivals, and companies in Utrecht. In addition, our historic building is available for rent.

We have two theater halls (the Main Hall and the Blue Hall), a café (Mevr. Dudok), and a theater restaurant (Zindering). We welcome more than 200,000 visitors each year. We work closely with the Dutch performing arts community, and with Utrecht-based companies, festivals, and institutions in particular. We also support local Utrecht artists and are strongly committed to education and talent development. We believe it is important that everyone feels welcome. Sustainability, equality, reciprocity, and complementarity are central to this.

What are you going to do?

  • You will develop and implement the brand strategy for the Stadsschouwburg as an organization—not for individual performances, but for the entire venue.
  • You promote the hospitality industry and support campaigns such as "Wijn & Spijs" and fundraising dinners.
  • You create communication materials for the rental and business markets: presentations, proposals, and quote documents that the sales manager needs.
  • You'll work with the Development team on sponsorship packages, partner proposals, and communications for donors and the Stadsschouwburg Foundation.
  • You will promote SSBU as an attractive location on LinkedIn and within Utrecht’s business networks.
  • You will report to the Head of MC&V and work closely with the sales manager, Development, Hospitality, and the Program Team.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Ensure brand identity is maintained in all institutional communications;
  • Creating content for the website and LinkedIn (text, photos, video);
  • Planning and implementing hospitality campaigns;
  • Produce communications materials for rentals and partnerships.

Who are you?

You have a keen sense of brand identity and instinctively know what does and doesn’t fit with the Stadsschouwburg. You switch easily between strategic thinking and a hands-on approach: one day you’re brainstorming a sponsorship proposal, the next you’re creating content for LinkedIn yourself. You have a commercial mindset and enjoy presenting hospitality, venue rentals, and fundraising in a persuasive and stylish way. You’re a natural team player—you connect easily with the Manager of Sales, Development, Hospitality, and the Programming Team, and know how to weave everyone’s interests into a cohesive narrative. You’re proactive, independent, and results-oriented, and you feel right at home in a dynamic organization.

Must-haves:

  • At least 4 years of experience in marketing or communications;
  • A sense of brand identity—you can quickly tell what works and what doesn't;
  • You write well and clearly in Dutch;
  • You work independently and are results-oriented.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with or an interest in the hospitality industry, partnerships, or fundraising;
  • Knowledge of the Utrecht business market.

You’ll start with a one-year contract for 28–32 hours per week, with the possibility of renewal. Our terms of employment are in accordance with the 2025–2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement for Dutch Performing Arts Venues, under which your salary will be determined based on your experience and skills and will fall within pay scale 7 (€3,335.85 to €4,682.18 for 36 hours).

You get 25 vacation days per year, and we add public holiday hours to your vacation balance. This way, you can choose which public holidays you want to take off.
