Stadsschouwburg Utrecht is an open and welcoming venue for anyone who loves theater and the performing arts. We present a wide range of national and international productions across all genres. We also organize special projects, often in collaboration with other venues, festivals, and companies in Utrecht. In addition, our historic building is available for rent.
We have two theater halls (the Main Hall and the Blue Hall), a café (Mevr. Dudok), and a theater restaurant (Zindering). We welcome more than 200,000 visitors each year. We work closely with the Dutch performing arts community, and with Utrecht-based companies, festivals, and institutions in particular. We also support local Utrecht artists and are strongly committed to education and talent development. We believe it is important that everyone feels welcome. Sustainability, equality, reciprocity, and complementarity are central to this. Together, we are building a future-proof theater where everyone feels welcome.
You will be part of the Planning & Production department, where you will work alongside five enthusiastic colleagues. The department ensures that the right staff are scheduled and that activities and events are prepared from a production standpoint so that they can be carried out successfully. The department serves as the primary (production-related) point of contact for both internal and external parties, such as theater companies and festivals.
While one of our colleagues is on maternity leave and supplemental parental leave, you will take over pre-production tasks and assist with creating staff schedules. This is a temporary position for 3 months, though the duration of the leave will be taken into account and a longer assignment is possible.
Automation plays a key role in this process: in addition to the Office 365 suite, we use the Yesplan event management system and an advanced scheduling program.
You bring added value to the team thanks to your versatile and unique skills, experience, qualities, and personality. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that productions and events are optimally pre-produced. That is why we ask the following of you:
We offer you a versatile role within a close-knit team in a fun work environment. In every department, we strive for diversity and the freedom to be yourself. There’s room to experiment, learn, and grow. In this way, you’ll actively contribute to an inclusive performing arts community.
The scope of the contract is negotiable; the intention is 8 to 24 hours per week. Our terms of employment comply with the Dutch Performing Arts Collective Labor Agreement (CAO Nederlandse Podia), with a salary based on skills and experience, falling under scale 5 of the CAO Nederlandse Podia (min. €2,590.82 and max. €3,584.99 for a 36-hour workweek). You will receive a minimum of 25 vacation days per year with a full-time contract. In addition, we add the hours of national holidays to your vacation balance. This gives you the freedom to choose which days you take off—for example, on holidays that are important to you.
We also offer other attractive employee benefits, including a generous pension plan, a bicycle purchase program, and a great employee benefit program that allows you to attend performances.
