Every year, we welcome over a million visitors and reach a growing audience through our online channels. Digital marketing plays an increasingly important role in how people discover ARTIS, plan their visit, and purchase tickets. That’s why we’re looking for an Online Performance Marketer who can drive measurable growth through digital channels.

Since 1838, ARTIS has been a green oasis and gathering place in the heart of Amsterdam, where nature and culture come together. The historic ARTIS Park encompasses the zoo, the botanical garden, and the Planetarium. In addition, the ARTIS-Micropia museum inspires visitors with the invisible world of microbes, and the ARTIS-Groote Museum reveals the deeper connection between humans and nature. Work

In this role, you’ll ensure that our digital campaigns aren’t just visible, but actually contribute to ARTIS’s mission: connecting people with nature. You’ll combine data, creativity, and leadership to get the most out of our marketing efforts.

Scope of work:

  • You will develop and manage digital campaigns that drive traffic, member recruitment, and engagement;
  • Together with your colleagues and the media agency, you will determine the appropriate use of channels such as Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager, as well as the necessary budgets
  • You provide direction to the media agency through clear briefings and monitor the quality and impact of campaigns;
  • You analyze results using tools such as Google Analytics and the data hub, and translate those insights into concrete improvements;
  • You’re constantly optimizing everything from targeting and content creation to landing pages and customer journeys;
  • You monitor KPIs and ensure that budgets are used effectively;
  • You share insights and advise colleagues and management on what works—and what could be improved;
  • Identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency, and innovation within digital channels;
  • Ensuring seamless integration between campaigns, landing pages, and customer journeys (conversion optimization);
  • You consistently strike a balance between achieving immediate results and strengthening the ARTIS brand.

You will be working within the Audience & Programming cluster in the Marketing & Communications department. The Marketing & Communications department consists of 16 professionals and is responsible for all marketing activities as well as both internal and external communications. As an Online Performance Marketer, you will work closely with our online marketers, digitalization project manager, and data analyst. Together, you will ensure that campaigns, channels, data, and customer journeys are well-aligned.

Profile

You are a curious and results-driven marketer who thrives on improving campaigns and keeping an eye on the big picture.

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in performance marketing and digital campaigns;
  • You feel comfortable taking the lead when working with a media agency;
  • You have strong analytical skills and know how to translate data into clear insights and actions;
  • You have a knack for both conversion and brand experience;
  • You interact easily with various stakeholders and bring people together;
  • You work in an organized manner and maintain a clear overview, even when there’s a lot going on at once;
  • You are proactive, critical, and not afraid to ask probing questions;
  • You have a college or university level of work and thinking;
  • Experience with ticketing, e-commerce, or the leisure industry is a plus.
