The Stadsschouwburg and the PHIL are Haarlem’s two largest venues. Every year, we organize more than 400 events: from hip-hop to dance, theater, and cabaret at the Stadsschouwburg, and from pop and classical concerts to soul performances, television productions, corporate events, and conferences at the PHIL. Together with a dedicated team, we ensure that artists, visitors, and clients feel welcome and that events run smoothly. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Caretaker (36 hours per week).
We are a single organization with two prominent venues in the center of Haarlem. Our entire team consists of approximately 120 employees and a group of dedicated volunteers. The Building Management & Facilities department ensures that our venues continue to operate smoothly, safely, and comfortably. The team consists of the Head of Building Management & Facilities, a senior Building Management staff member, a Facilities Coordinator, and four building managers.
As a facility manager, you ensure that our locations function properly and look well-maintained every day. You have strong technical skills, quickly identify what needs to be done, and take the initiative to tackle maintenance and repair tasks. You combine technical expertise with a welcoming and service-oriented attitude, making you a visible point of contact in the building. In this role, Topdesk reports, daily maintenance, and practical technical tasks play a major role.
In short: a varied role in which you make a visible contribution to a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment.
You are a technically skilled, hands-on person with a strong sense of responsibility. You enjoy working independently, identify tasks that need to be done, and take initiative when necessary. For you, hospitality is a natural part of the job: you are helpful, approachable, and contribute to an environment where visitors and colleagues feel welcome.
Are you the practical and hospitable building manager we're looking for? If so, we'd love to receive your application.
