On behalf of the Stadsschouwburg & PHIL Haarlem Foundation (“SSPH”), we are seeking two new members for the Supervisory Board with cultural-social and administrative-social backgrounds, in connection with the (upcoming) expiration of the current term of office.
The SSPH is the cultural heart of Haarlem, and both venues cater to a broad audience from the city and the surrounding region. In the historic theater and one of the oldest concert halls in the Netherlands, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of performing arts: from theater, dance, and cabaret to classical music and pop concerts. With over 400 events per year—ranging from performances to business meetings—both venues play a key role in Haarlem’s cultural ecosystem. Both venues are well-received by the public and are financially sound.
In addition, education, talent development, and support for amateur arts play an important role in the programming. A dedicated team of 60 full-time staff members and about 75 hospitality staff and volunteers ensures a welcoming atmosphere every day. This helps keep these historic buildings vibrant gathering places where art, culture, and community come together.
The SSPH is led by a two-person executive board that reports to a five-member Supervisory Board. Our collaboration is based on trust, transparency, and an open culture.
