The Stadsschouwburg and the PHIL are Haarlem’s two largest venues. Every year, we organize more than 450 events: from hip-hop to dance, theater, and cabaret at the Stadsschouwburg, and from pop and classical concerts to soul performances, television productions, corporate events, and conferences at the PHIL. With a passionate team, we work hard to make all of this possible. Due to a colleague’s departure, we are looking for a Facilities Coordinator for 32–36 -hour weeks.

The department

In addition to the Head, the Building Management & Facilities Department consists of a senior building management staff member, a facilities coordinator, and four building superintendents.

What will you be doing?

As a facilities coordinator, you are the indispensable link that ensures our locations continue to operate smoothly, safely, and comfortably. You’ll handle a wide range of tasks: from resolving minor technical issues and coordinating maintenance of kitchen, catering, and technical systems—such as networking and telephony—to ensuring safety, managing keys and access rights, and overseeing the daily operations of the building managers.

A sample of your responsibilities:

  • You ensure that our workspaces are in top condition;
  • Providing support to colleagues with IT-related questions about laptops and telephony;
  • Scheduling external cleaning for all our facilities;
  • Contributing ideas for smart, sustainable solutions for waste management and energy consumption;
  • You identify issues, maintain maintenance reports, and submit proposals for repairs, maintenance, or replacements by third parties through the Topdesk system;
  • You'll work closely with internal and external partners to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Who are you?

You are a practical and independent facilities professional who is confident and self-assured. With your broad technical and IT knowledge, attention to safety, and ability to plan effectively, you are able to maintain a clear overview in a dynamic environment. You are approachable, service-oriented, and switch effortlessly between colleagues, suppliers, and various types of tasks.

You should also bring:

  • A completed vocational or higher vocational education program (technical or facilities management);
  • Extensive knowledge of technology and computer systems;
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety, prevention, and safety tasks (such as OP and HACCP), or a willingness to learn these quickly;
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented attitude;
  • The ability to plan effectively, set priorities, and maintain an overview;
  • Flexibility and the ability to quickly switch between a variety of tasks.

  • You can attend free concerts and performances and bring a guest;
  • You will be offered a one-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent position.
