As a consultant/project manager on the Diversity-Sensitive Care team, you will work on projects that help reduce health disparities, with a special focus on people who are new to the Netherlands. You will help strengthen culturally sensitive and inclusive care, addressing issues such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), discrimination in healthcare, and ethnic health disparities. You will collaborate and build connections with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and diverse communities. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that health disparities and their underlying causes receive the attention they deserve. In this way, you will contribute to Pharos’s mission.
Would you like to help build a healthcare system where everyone feels seen, heard, and safe? Do you have experience in the healthcare field and an interest in these topics? If so, we’re looking for you.
Everyone in the Netherlands has an equal right to a long and healthy life. At the Pharos Center of Expertise, we are therefore committed to reducing health disparities. We do this by gathering, enriching, and sharing knowledge and expertise, and by translating that knowledge into actionable insights for healthcare providers, policymakers, and other professionals—in collaboration with the people directly affected. Will you join us?
The “Diversity-Sensitive Care” team consists of 10 colleagues. This team focuses on ensuring good access to, and providing understandable and appropriate care for, people with a migrant background and people who are new to the Netherlands. The main themes are: quality care (and access to care) for people with a refugee background, discrimination in healthcare, female genital mutilation, and culturally sensitive/inclusive practices within long-term care.
Pharos is home to people who demonstrate commitment, take the initiative, and work together to achieve great results. People who want to use their knowledge and expertise to make the Netherlands more inclusive. People who tell a story with passion, can really dig in, and can easily switch between interacting with administrators, healthcare professionals, and people who struggle with reading and writing. We are convinced that a diverse team of colleagues with different backgrounds and ideas keeps us sharp and makes our work more impactful. You are very welcome.
