The Stadsschouwburg and the PHIL are Haarlem’s two largest venues. Every year, we organize more than 400 events: from hip-hop to dance, theater, and cabaret at the Stadsschouwburg, and from pop and classical concerts to soul performances, television productions, corporate events, and conferences at the PHIL. Who are we?
We are a single organization with two prominent venues in the heart of Haarlem. Our team consists of 120 employees and a group of dedicated volunteers. Together, we ensure that all performances and events run smoothly. The Hospitality & Events department is responsible for both the planning and execution of events and performances.
What will you be doing?
As a Junior Production Manager, you’ll ensure that the preparation and execution of events and performances run smoothly. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:
- Developing and monitoring production plans, production schedules, and venue schedules;
- Maintaining contact with artists, technicians, suppliers, and other stakeholders;
- Coordinating activities on the day of the event, including liaising with external parties such as organizers and caterers;
- Identifying and resolving unexpected issues;
- Providing stage management services for smaller performances and events;
- Managing hospitality staff, doormen, volunteers, and service staff to ensure an optimal guest experience;
- Handling and overseeing the administrative wrap-up of a performance or event.
Who are you?
- You can easily keep track of everything, even when there’s a lot going on at once and the pressure mounts;
- You have a practical mindset and adapt quickly when situations change;
- You communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of parties;
- You make sure that everyone—artists, crew, visitors, staff, and volunteers—feels welcome;
- You speak and write Dutch; knowledge of other languages is a plus;
- You are willing to work irregular hours and preferably live in (or near) Haarlem.
- You have relevant training, such as a degree in Performing Arts Production, supplemented by several years of work experience;
- You have the required certifications (such as Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Response) or are willing to obtain them.
