Functional Administrator

Teylers Museum is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1784 and is still housed in its original building. At the museum, you can marvel at art and science. It houses a unique collection of fossils, minerals, books, coins, medals, scientific instruments, paintings, and drawings of international significance. We organize diverse and successful (international) exhibitions, ranging from Leonardo da Vinci to Dinomakers, from The Great Illusion – 200 Years of Virtual Realities to Hockney’s Eye.

Job Description

As a Functional Administrator, you are responsible for managing and optimizing our IT environment. You ensure that employees can collaborate efficiently and that our digital work environment functions properly. You serve as the link between IT and users, translating functional requirements into concrete solutions. You are supported in this by external IT vendors.

Work

You will be working at a casual organization, in the Operations Department. You will report to the Business Director.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• You manage, configure, and optimize Microsoft 365 applications such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams;
• You will assist other application administrators whenever possible;
• You will be the primary point of contact for our external IT vendors. These include vendors specializing in hardware, network management, and applications.

Other tasks include:

• You will support and assist colleagues in using the IT systems and provide tips and training;
• You will work with internal stakeholders and external IT vendors to improve digital processes;
• You will implement and enforce the IT policy, paying close attention to key aspects such as security, compliance, privacy, and data management;
• You are our IT specialist and keep abreast of IT developments that can help us continuously improve our business operations within the available budgets;
• You order and configure hardware, such as laptops and smartphones;

You can do this

•  You have excellent digital skills;
•  You are able to communicate effectively at various levels
•  You are able to work well on your own;
•  You have proven knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams. Knowledge of Power Automate is a plus;
• You have experience with hardware management, such as laptops and smartphones;
• You have an excellent command of Dutch and a good command of English, both spoken and written.

• You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position;
• You have at least a college-level education and thinking skills;
• You are proactive;
• You are organized and results-oriented;
• You have strong analytical skills;
• You are patient.

Our offerings

• We are offering you a one-year contract for 24–32 hours per week, with the possibility of a permanent position if both parties are satisfied;
• According to the museum collective bargaining agreement, the salary ranges from €3,641 to €4,731 gross per month, based on a 36-hour (full-time) workweek, and is determined based on knowledge and work experience;
