Experienced Data Engineer

What will you be doing?

You will maintain, update, and further expand our growing data infrastructure. Together with other data specialists, you will work on our data warehouse (DWH). In doing so, you will make a significant contribution to the growth and development of Milieudefensie.

• You load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
• You will provide advice on and help build datasets in the data warehouse.
• You manage and maintain tables and scripts containing data that is available to your colleagues.
• You will advise on and develop automated solutions for various departments.

What are you bringing?

• Experience with ETL processes and APIs.
• Experience with data warehouses.
• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing SQL-based databases.
• Experience with Python and SQL (familiarity with Postgres is a plus).
• You solve problems with an eye for detail and data quality.
• You are a good communicator and enjoy working with others.
• You’ll collaborate and brainstorm with your colleagues to ensure that our data is reliable, secure, and well-organized.
• You enjoy keeping up with the latest developments in data and applying them where necessary.
• You speak Dutch and live in the Netherlands. You are expected to work in the office (at least) two days a week.

Who do you work with?

You will be part of the Data Team and will work alongside a data analyst, a database marketer, and application administrators. You will report to the Data Team Leader. The team is part of the Communications & Fundraising Department.

• A one-year contract with the option to extend.
• A salary ranging from €3,560 to €5,476 for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience. At Milieudefensie, this is a 37.5-hour workweek.
