Are you looking for a DIV role at the intersection of consulting, implementation, and project management? Do you have a keen eye for process improvement and innovation? Does the prospect of joining a new and diverse team where the division of responsibilities isn’t yet set in stone excite you? That sounds like a great fit for our DIV Consultant position.
You will be working as an advisor within our new CIO Office. This team brings together all roles related to information management—from the privacy officer to the help desk, and from information security to DIV. You will work closely with an experienced DIV staff member who focuses primarily on mail processing and analog archives. You will tackle some tasks together. These include archiving documents, transferring records to the National Archives, and providing advice on the Archives Act. For other tasks, you will be the primary point of contact. Examples include: promoting DIV expertise among colleagues, participating in organization-wide working groups, and driving innovation and digitization of DIV work processes.
In this role, you’ll work with many different colleagues, which makes the work varied and interesting. For example, you’ll advise our management team on policy documents, provide training on topics like SharePoint to new colleagues, participate in the project designing a new CMS, and assist with handling Woo requests. Of course, you won’t be on your own when carrying out these tasks. Your DIV colleague has extensive experience within the organization, your manager has a strong affinity for DIV, and if necessary, we occasionally bring in external help.
Your key responsibilities at a glance:
As a DIV advisor, you have a service-oriented attitude, but at the same time you ensure that agreed-upon guidelines are followed. You often act as a “helper,” but sometimes also as a “law enforcement officer.” You enjoy switching between these roles and keep an eye on both the outcome and the relationship. You’re skilled at conveying information—both in terms of content and presentation. You enjoy giving presentations and training sessions, and you have a keen eye for innovations in your field. In addition to your day-to-day DIV work, you see it as a challenge to elevate DIV tasks within the Senate to a higher level.
