Foodwatch is an independent nonprofit organization with a wide reach. As a food watchdog, we expose food-related abuses and use our campaigns to call on the food industry and the government to take action.
In Amsterdam, we have a team of nine people who are dedicated to improving consumers’ right to safe, fair, and healthy food. Among other things, we fight against hazardous substances in our food, advocate for independent food science, promote healthy nutrition, and push for a ban on marketing to children. As a food watchdog, we expose food scandals, tackle fraud and conflicts of interest, and present the Golden Rotten Egg award annually.
Foodwatch is looking fora data-driven online marketer tojoin our fundraising and marketing team. In this role, you will contribute directly to the development of our online channels and external communications, both in the Netherlands and internationally in collaboration with our sister offices in Germany, France, and Austria.
What you'll be doing:
- Online marketing: Together with our social media marketer, you’ll use online channels to recruit signatories and donors and increase our impact. Using your SEO/SEA expertise, you’ll drive more traffic to our website and, together with your international colleagues, you’ll be responsible for optimizing it.
- Email marketing: You support campaigns and fundraising efforts by improving open, click-through, and conversion rates through target audience analysis, precise data selection, and A/B testing, among other methods.
- Monitoring, analysis, and evaluation ofonline campaigns and weekly performance across all our online channels, so that we can use the data to identify ways to improve every week.
What you have to offer:
- You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably at a nonprofit organization.
- You are curious, proactive, and results-oriented. You have strong analytical skills and are good at coming up with creative solutions.
- You should be able to work with CMS systems and analytics platforms. Familiarity with programs such as Procurios, Later, Canva, and Matomo is a plus.
- You are able to set up ad campaigns using our Google Ad Grants, or you can quickly learn how to do so.
- You are able to work both independently and as part of a team, and are willing to tackle a variety of tasks amid the fast-paced nature of current events.
- You have a good command of Dutch and English.
