Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator

Job Description

Teylers Museum strives to be a diverse and inclusive organization where everyone feels welcome and valued. As Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, you will be the driving force and inspiration within the organization in the area of D&I. You will lead the D&I working group, which is yet to be formed. You will advise the board, the management team, and employees on D&I policy and related practical matters. You have demonstrable work experience in a role or position where you have increased diversity awareness within an organization. In addition, you are uniquely knowledgeable about current developments in Diversity and Inclusion, and you are full of new ideas that inspire, motivate, and connect people. You are skilled at translating your ideas into concrete policies and actions that deliver results.

Work

Your main responsibilities will include: 

• provide advice on diversity and inclusion at all levels of the organization;
• Developing Diversity & Inclusion policies and translating them into concrete actions;
• Implementation, coordination, and evaluation of plans;
• Providing advice on and monitoring compliance with the Diversity and Inclusion Code;
• Engage employees and raise their awareness of the importance of Diversity & Inclusion;
• Keeping abreast of developments in the field of Diversity & Inclusion and building and maintaining a broad network.

• A position for 24 hours per week, with appropriate terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement;
• The position is classified in pay grade 10 (a gross monthly salary ranging from €3,368 to €4,406 based on a full-time (36-hour) workweek. This includes a 5% structural pay increase effective November 1, 2022);
• The position is funded by a grant and is therefore temporary for the time being. Initially, a one-year employment contract will be offered.  

Profile

• You have a college or university level of work and thinking;
• You should ideally have at least three years of work experience in the field of Diversity & Inclusion;
• You enjoy working with other people;
• You convince colleagues of new ideas while keeping their interests in mind;
• You enjoy getting results and making decisions;
• You keep a cool head in stressful situations;
• You think in terms of solutions when problems or obstacles arise;
• You can communicate effectively with our colleagues and partners both verbally and in writing in Dutch and English.
