As a case manager, you are responsible for supporting victims of serious violent crimes and sex crimes, as well as the surviving relatives of murder or manslaughter victims. After a traumatic experience, people often have financial, legal, or practical questions in addition to physical or psychological symptoms. Case managers typically provide intensive, long-term support to victims and their families as they deal with the consequences of the crime. In your role, you’ll help people by referring them to the right support services or agencies that can assist them further. You act as a sounding board and central coordinator, and will deal with unexpected situations, questions, and developments that may arise in a case. To provide clients with effective support, you will visit many locations as a case manager. This may include clients’ homes, the police station, and the courthouse. Your work therefore requires a considerable degree of stress resilience and flexibility. We are currently looking for you to join our team in the Limburg region.

What are you going to do?

You will translate the complex and deeply emotional personal stories of victims and their loved ones into concrete services.
You will regularly make home visits and provide support and information to clients regarding court hearings.
You'll be on call a few times a year.
You will be in frequent contact with the police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the progress of a case, and will liaise with lawyers, psychologists, local governments, general practitioners, etc., as needed.

What do you bring to the table?

At least a completed MWD, SPH, or comparable associate's degree program.
You live in the Limburg region. You also have a Class B driver’s license and a car.
At least 5 years of experience with one-on-one client contact and/or group sessions, preferably with a complex (psychiatric) client population.
Knowledge of and experience with (the possibilities of) psychosocial support
Experience working with victims of sexual abuse and knowledge of criminal law are a plus.
