All-around Marketing and Communications Consultant (0.8 FTE)

Are you a creative, well-rounded, hands-on marketing and communications consultant with several years of experience? Does organizing and managing campaigns energize you? As a communications consultant, are you passionate about addressing socially relevant issues, such as creating a safe and supportive school and learning environment for students? Who are we?

School & Safety is the leading center of expertise for social safety in schools. As a national platform, we provide schools with information and support to promote a socially safe school environment. We do this through articles, guides, and tips on our website, as well as school-specific advice via our Advice Center, learning networks, our national conference *Met Alle Respect!*, and various campaigns such as Anti-Bullying Week. Our staff translates national policy into guidelines and practical applications for the education sector. We do this for elementary education (po), special education (go), secondary education (vo), and secondary vocational education (mbo).

What will you be doing?

You will be working within the Communication department. The department uses a content plan based on strategic goals to inspire professionals in elementary, middle, high, and vocational schools to prioritize social safety in schools.

You will serve as the central point of contact and hands-on communications advisor on the topic of safety policy and the new Free and Safe Education Act bill. To this end, you will develop and implement all marketing and communication activities and launch an awareness campaign; you will coordinate the content with the subject matter experts and maintain contact with the agencies we partner with to achieve the campaign goals.

As an all-around marketing and communications specialist, you will also be involved in communications related to other safety topics.

How do you go about this?

• You will be responsible for an awareness campaign regarding the new Free and Safe Education Act; you will provide hands-on guidance for the campaign’s activities and ensure that the full range of activities is carried out in accordance with the project plan.
• As a hands-on, all-around marketing and communications consultant, you will be responsible for the communications activities related to various safety themes and topics that we aim to advance in 2026.
• You will create content plans and coordinate them internally, keep the website up to date, and write SEO-optimized copy and articles for the corporate website. In addition, you will create inspiring content for social media channels and monitor the performance of your posts. When necessary, you will oversee the development of products and tools from start to finish.
• Finally, you will be responsible for coordinating media requests and generating external exposure. You will write newsworthy press releases and actively seek out news stories.

You have at least 3 years of experience in marketing and communications. You enjoy developing content and have a way with words. You are creative and full of fun and inspiring ideas that you love to share with your colleagues. You fit well into a dynamic work environment where not all processes have been formalized yet. You are results-oriented and have an eye for detail.

In addition, you have:

• a completed associate's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
• knowledge of marketing, public relations, and (social) media
• excellent communication and writing skills
• strong networking skills
• Knowledge of DTP software (such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva) is a strong plus

School & Safety is a nationwide organization with approximately 40 employees across various departments: Administration, Advisory Services, Communications, and Knowledge & Partnerships.

We offer a one-year contract, competitive pay, and excellent benefits. The salary range is €3,246.16 – €4,868.02 based on full-time employment.
