Victim Support Netherlands helps victims and their loved ones take control of their situation by informing them about the criminal justice process, supporting them in exercising their rights and obtaining compensation, and collaborating with partners in the justice system. As a senior legal assistant, you will be part of the national team of senior legal assistants and will work for the East Brabant and Zeeland-West Brabant districts. Your main task is to support other legal assistants with your knowledge and experience. You will be their first point of contact for complex issues. You will do this by phone, digitally, and at the offices of Victim Support Netherlands. For example, you will help colleagues with filing motions and advocating for victims’ rights.
You will also handle your own cases. Like your colleagues, you will interact with clients and attend court hearings. However, your role will focus on providing substantive guidance and performing tasks that transcend regional boundaries. You help others make a difference in these areas. You coach, lead work meetings, discuss case studies, and monitor and improve the quality and consistency of the legal services provided by Victim Support Netherlands. In addition, you closely follow legal developments and translate them into practice, for example through education or knowledge sharing within the team. In this way, you provide direction for your colleagues’ work and, directly and indirectly, offer support to people affected by a crime, accident, or disaster.
A great opportunity to put your skills to work for others. Your work is challenging, varied, and comes with a lot of responsibility and room for initiative. You help your colleagues grow and support victims in moving forward. Your work is meaningful and makes a difference in society. That’s why you’ll receive:
