Service Team Member

What you will be doing

As a member of our Service Team, you’ll be the first point of contact for residents in our region with questions about fire safety. You’ll also provide friendly assistance to our partners at local governments and other organizations. With your customer-focused approach and knowledge of our organization, you’ll ensure that everyone receives prompt assistance. As the hub of our operations, you’ll serve as a source of information, a point of contact, and provide administrative support—for example, by processing requests for advice in our case management system. You’ll switch quickly between incoming calls, emails, and colleagues who stop by your desk.

You don’t need to know all of this right away. We have a handy system where you can find the most frequently asked questions. And if there’s something you don’t know, there’s always a colleague ready to help!

• Vocational high school (MBO) level of work and thinking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Some experience with administrative tasks

Here's what you'll get from us

The Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region is offering a position within a dynamic and ambitious organization as part of a professional team, with ample opportunities for personal development.

• Salary in pay grade 7, with a maximum of €2,049 per month for an 18-hour contract. This includes a 3.1% collective bargaining agreement increase effective August 1, 2026.
• We determine the work hours by mutual agreement, and they can be arranged flexibly.
• An individual flexible spending account (IFSA) equal to 18.63% of the gross annual salary. This includes the year-end bonus and vacation pay.
• 88.5 hours of leave based on an 18-hour workweek, including 21.6 hours of overtime. You automatically have the day off on May 1 and May 5!
• A one-year appointment, with the possibility of a permanent position.
• A generous pension plan through ABP, 70% of which is paid by us.
• Monthly health insurance premium.
• Free use of the sports facilities and classes at the fire stations.
• We place a strong emphasis on (personal) development, offering opportunities to participate in courses, training sessions, and workshops.

The team

The Amsterdam-Amstelland Fire Department is part of the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. The Risk Management Department, a team of approximately 40 colleagues, is part of the Fire Services Sector. Risk Management advises the competent authority, other safety regions, external parties, and the board on preventing and mitigating risks of fire and other incidents. We are where we can have the greatest impact on creating a safe living environment.
