A woman who calls because she has just been the victim of a burglary. A young person struggling with feelings of guilt after a traffic accident. Or a business owner overwhelmed by the aftermath of a major fire. People reach out to Victim Support Netherlands during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. And then they get you on the phone. With your support and advice, they take the first steps toward getting help. Apply today to become a customer service representative and make a difference.
As a customer service representative, you are often the first point of contact for people who have experienced a traumatic event, such as a crime, a traffic accident, or a disaster. People call you with stories that are sometimes raw and emotional. You lend a listening ear, reassure them, and make sure they feel heard. You ask questions to clarify the situation and ensure they receive appropriate assistance—whether by scheduling a follow-up appointment with the right colleague or by referring them to an external support organization.
The people you interact with are often confused, shocked, sad, or afraid. To help them as effectively as possible, you’ll receive a customized training program. In this program, you’ll learn how to handle various situations and what kinds of support are available. You’ll take part in both classroom training and on-the-job training. This way, you’ll start your new job with a solid foundation of skills.
This is a great opportunity to put your skills to work for others. It’s rewarding to help people during their most vulnerable times. You make a real difference, and people are often very grateful. In addition to your salary, you’ll also receive:
You combine empathy with decisiveness and keep a cool head, even when conversations become emotionally charged. In addition:
After the initial screening based on the criteria, you may receive an email asking you to complete our matching tool. This tool allows us to get to know you better in an objective way. It gives us greater insight into your skills, motivations, and cultural preferences. And of course, you’ll also receive a personality report, giving you immediate insight into your own personality. Based on your match and your resume, we’ll make a selection, and if it looks promising, we’ll invite you to a selection event. We’ll tell you more about that later.
