
Do you already have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and want to start working as a police officer in the Rotterdam Unit? The accelerated bachelor’s program in police work begins in November 2025. In this accelerated program, you’ll learn and work in a practical setting. This allows you to gain extensive work experience that you can immediately apply to your coursework. Upon completion of the work-study program, you will have a recognized police degree, and we guarantee you a job.
The Rotterdam District covers a highly diverse and dynamic area, including Europe’s largest port, as well as urban centers in the Randstad and rural areas. The neighborhoods within the Rotterdam District are home to a very diverse population. This creates a unique dynamic and presents a variety of safety challenges.
To connect with everyone who needs us, we need police officers from diverse cultural backgrounds on our frontline teams. This ensures that everyone in the Rotterdam Unit’s service area feels represented by their police force and feels comfortable approaching the police.

This program is currently undergoing government review for official recognition as a bachelor’s degree program. This process takes some time. We expect to receive this recognition in early 2024. We will, of course, keep you informed.
