The world is on fire, sea levels are rising, biodiversity is under threat, and Greenpeace is doing whatever it takes to protect our planet. We don’t do this alone. Behind every researcher, every lobbyist, and every activist stands a supporter. They understand that we no longer have time for what’s possible—we must invest in what’s necessary. Greenpeace is completely independent and receives no subsidies from the government or the private sector. Together with our supporters, we make it possible. Bequests are an essential and growing foundation for our long-term financial independence.
What will you be doing?
As an Estate Fundraiser on the Major Gifts team, you’ll serve as the empathetic and knowledgeable link between our mission and (potential) donors who want to use their estate to make a lasting impact on a green planet. You understand that this is about meaningful encounters where listening is more important than speaking. You look beyond tomorrow and build a future-proof movement.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Recruitment & Market Growth: You identify opportunities in the market and translate them into a powerful marketing program to raise awareness of bequests to Greenpeace. You inspire supporters and the general public to contribute to a green future through their wills. Through engaging direct marketing campaigns—ranging from (e-)mailings to Facebook and SEA—you’ll help build a growing community of legacy donors. You’ll work closely with our (online) marketers to ensure every campaign is a success.
- Loyalty & Relationship Management: You’ll build strong relationships with existing supporters by continuously improving our loyalty programs. You’ll curate exclusive content that deepens their engagement and ensure that all our communications—from online content to personal interactions—are perfectly aligned. You’ll be the link that ensures our most loyal supporters feel heard, seen, and engaged.
- Data & CRM Management: You’ll work in a data-driven manner and make precise selections in our CRM system. You’ll also ensure that data is accurately managed and monitored. You’ll coordinate the processing of responses to direct-marketing campaigns so that we can track (potential) donors and their progress through the donor journey for bequests, and make improvements as needed.
- Innovation & Optimization: You will explore how new technologies, such as AI and data insights, can help optimize our marketing campaigns and the supporter journey related to legacies.
Who are you?
You are a results-oriented professional who understands that fundraising is a balance between hard numbers and deep human connection. You thrive in a dynamic environment and know how to translate complex issues into a clear and hopeful narrative.
- Expertise: You have at least 3 years of experience in estate-related fundraising, marketing, and relationship management. Knowledge of estate law is a plus.
- Results-oriented: You are focused on achieving and realizing objectives and make timely adjustments when necessary.
- Communication: You are empathetic, a good listener, an excellent communicator, a skilled writer, and have an excellent command of both Dutch and English.
- Work and thinking level: You have a higher vocational education (HBO) or university (WO) level of work and thinking.
- Team Player: You work independently and actively seek to collaborate with your colleagues in marketing and communications to ensure that sustainability is an integral part of our communications.
