Are you an expert in financial control, and would you be interested in working on aspects of business control as well? We are looking for a Financial Controller with a broad perspective.
KNGF Guide Dogs is a unique workplace. At our facility in Amstelveen, the dogs attend school and undergo training. Clients, foster families, and donors are also regularly on our premises, attending workshops or participating in our events. Because we work with dogs, clients, and various unique target groups, the environment in which we operate is complex. This requires you, as a controller, to have the necessary analytical and comprehension skills. You must understand how the processes work and how they interact with one another.
So: Do you like to get your hands dirty in the business? Do you see complex issues as a challenge? Do you enjoy analyzing an organization’s performance and taking action based on your findings? If you also communicate clearly and effectively at all levels, then we’re looking for you!
As a financial controller, you are the financial conscience of our organization. You are responsible for reporting, analysis, and making financial data accessible. You play a key role in monitoring KNGF’s financial position and supporting colleagues in the preparation of business plans. At KNGF Guide Dogs, we operate on a planning and control cycle. Your responsibilities include preparing the multi-year budget, the annual budget, monthly closings and analyses, the Latest Estimate, preparing the financial statements, and overseeing the audit. As a controller, you will participate in the meetings of the financial audit committee and the investment advisory committee.
You will work closely with all departments within this organization and serve as a strategic partner to management and the executive board. In addition to the controller, the finance team consists of four other colleagues. As a controller, you will coordinate the work of the financial administration department. The team is part of the Operations Department, which also includes IT, payroll, reception, and facilities. Together with the Operations Manager, you will develop the financial policy and share responsibility for its implementation.
KNGF Guide Dogs is the largest provider of service dogs in the Netherlands. But we are more than just a dog training institute. Our mission is to give as many people with disabilities as possible a better life. With the help of our professionally trained dogs, we offer new perspectives and create opportunities to discover new things. For some, that means stepping out to run errands; for others, it means going on vacation again after years. Differences are worth their weight in gold. Even in the workplace. That’s why there’s room for everyone within our company. Together, we’re committed to helping others, but also to supporting our own team. We see ourselves more as coaches, both internally and externally: we encourage, motivate, help people take that final step, and celebrate successes. Because every step forward counts. That’s how we keep opening up new worlds.
A unique work environment and a wide-ranging role as a financial controller.
The starting salary depends on your prior experience. Over the years, this salary can increase to a maximum of €5,959 gross per month based on a 38-hour workweek. There is an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 percent, and KNGF Guide Dogs invests in the training and development of its employees. Employment begins with a one-year contract, with the prospect of a permanent contract upon satisfactory performance. The position is based in Amstelveen. KNGF offers a comprehensive onboarding program to help you get to know your colleagues, departments, and processes. After the onboarding period, it is possible to work partially from home.
As an organization, we encourage our clients to be courageous. And if we ask that of them, we must be courageous ourselves. That’s why we encourage you to think differently and try new things—to take control of your work, your career, and your personal development. Because only when we dare to explore new paths together can we push boundaries and open up new worlds.
Are you interested in this position and do you meet the qualifications? If so, please send your cover letter and resume to KNGF Guide Dogs by September 11, with the subject line “Financial Controller Position,” via P&O@geleidehond.nl.
