As a Project Financial Advisor, you can contribute to this by providing management with clear information and data-driven, insightful financial advice. In doing so, you ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness. In this role, you’ll be a key partner and essential to the projects you work on. For this position, we’re looking for both a senior and a mid-level Financial Advisor for Projects.

This is your job

As a financial advisor for projects, you will work with your colleagues to provide sound financial advice for various projects within the Spatial Planning Department. You will be responsible for ensuring that the financial information for the projects and programs you are involved in such as mobility, energy, and healthy living environments is up-to-date and relevant. In this substantive role, you are able to translate financial analysis into clear advice. You are closely involved in the projects and know all the ins and outs, enabling you to link funding to project content and provide advice. In addition, you will contribute to the preparation of Planning & Control deliverables. As a senior, your duties and responsibilities will involve a higher degree of complexity, and you will assume a coaching and coordinating role for your colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that information is up-to-date, reliable, and relevant so that the city’s projects and initiatives can be effectively managed
  • Advising project and program managers, including on the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
  • Identifying risks and providing advice on risk management measures, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Establishing connections and collaborating with other organizational units
  • Serve as a sounding board for team members and the manager with final responsibility
  • Contributing ideas and working toward the continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and reports

  • You have a college or university level of work and thinking in the field of finance or economics,
  • You have approximately 3 to 6 years of recent and relevant work experience in a similar role
  • You are a critical thinker and can translate opportunities, interests, and risks into well-founded, independent recommendations, while at the same time managing resistance and conflicting interests
  • You have a forward-looking perspective and maintain a clear overview of the vast and diverse range of information involved in the tasks
  • You'll have no trouble finding your way around a large organization
  • Knowledge of the BBV Decree and experience in (regional) government are a plus, but don’t let that deter you if you have a different professional background.

  • A 36-hour workweek with a gross monthly salary ranging from €3,701 to €6,103 based on 36 hours (pay grade 11 or 12). The final pay grade will be determined based on knowledge and experience
  • An Individual Choice Budget (ICB). The ICB allows you to tailor your employment conditions to your own circumstances. For example, you could use it to purchase additional leave hours. The amount of the Individual Choice Budget (ICB) is 17.05% of your salary
  • Flexibility in choosing where to work (working from home) and working hours
  • Of course, we’ll make sure you have a good workspace at home, too. This includes a laptop, desk, and office chair.
  • The option to work 32 hours or 4 shifts of 9 hours each is negotiable

An agreement in principle has been reached for a collective bargaining agreement salary increase of €240 plus 2%; this has not yet been factored into the salaries listed.
