The Hague University of Applied Sciences will launch its third trainee program for new higher education instructors in January 2023. We have openings for 14 trainees across various programs. Are you about to graduate or have you recently graduated and want to start a career in higher education? As a trainee instructor at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, you will develop into an inspiring, knowledgeable, and engaging instructor. During the two-year full-time work-and-study program, you’ll learn the ins and outs of the teaching profession, work alongside a group of peers eager to learn, and develop a broad perspective on The Hague University of Applied Sciences and the development of young adults.
The program
Three days a week, you’ll work within the program to gain practical experience. The other two days are dedicated to learning. During these sessions, you’ll work with your fellow trainees to learn how to make your teaching challenging, engaging, and inclusive, how to coach students, and you’ll focus on your personal development. You will also work on assignments that contribute to high-quality and inclusive education. As part of the trainee program, you will earn your Basic Qualification in Teaching Competence.
The Hague University of Applied Sciences as an Inclusive Campus
The Hague University of Applied Sciencesaims to be an inclusive campus. We are known as an institution with a highly diverse student body. However, we do not yet see that same level of diversity among our staff. We want to address this, because we recognize the added value of diversity. Different perspectives, backgrounds, and insights lead to greater intellectual capacity, better decisions, and contribute to the quality of our education. It doesn’t matter where you or your parents were born, what your educational background is, what you believe in, or whom you love; we’re curious to learn how and what you want to contribute to better connect with our students and the changing world around us.
Your profile
We are looking for trainees who are eager to take on the challenge of helping our students learn more effectively. You want to inspire, motivate, and guide students as they develop into professionals in higher professional education who contribute to a sustainable and inclusive society. In addition, you are interested in personal growth and are eager to learn alongside a group of like-minded individuals.
