CORPORATE RECRUITER
We are looking for an enthusiastic Corporate Recruiter (28–32 hours per week) who can prioritize recruitment for all departments within the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. Will you be the very first Corporate Recruiter for our wonderful Safety Region? A pioneering challenge like this also means you’ll have the freedom to develop your ideas and shape the role exactly as you envision it.
Your profile
For this position, you should have the following:
- It’s a plus if you already have experience in recruitment; you may have already built up a small network.
- It’s important that you have an eye for finding the right candidate for the job and know how to get them excited about it.
- You have knowledge of the job market and are familiar with the social media platforms relevant to your field.
- You have a creative and organized approach to your work and can function effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- You’ll conduct initial interviews with managers and write compelling job postings. You’ll screen applicants based on the specified criteria and competencies and decide who to invite for a personal interview. You’ll oversee the entire process, from drafting the job posting to onboarding the right candidate.
- You must have at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of HR.
- You are proficient in MS Office and MS Teams. Knowledge of AFAS is a plus.
Career Center Team
You will be joining a team of six employees. Each employee has a specific area of expertise: Career Development, Recruitment and Selection of Fire Service Professionals, Recruitment and Selection of Professional Commanders, and Leadership Training. The Recruitment specialty will be added to this team. The Career Center is one of the teams within the HR department, which has a total of 26 professional staff members and is led by the HR Manager.
The Career Center team is also involved in various organization-wide projects. The team is diverse in terms of age, gender, and cultural background. Our working relationship is based on mutual trust, openness, transparency, and integrity.
What are we working on as a Safety Region?
We work together with all our colleagues—staff, law enforcement personnel, and volunteers—to ensure the safety of the residents in our service area.
Your responsibilities
Every day is different. One moment you’re working on defining the recruitment strategy or writing a compelling job posting; the next, you’re organizing a selection committee, reviewing applications with a few colleagues, and conducting job interviews. You’ll visit job fairs and attend events where you can find suitable candidates. And as an ambassador for our organization, you’ll demonstrate that the safety region is an interesting and attractive employer. Fortunately, you won’t be doing this alone; the communications department will serve as an important partner for you in this regard. Finally, you will also participate in projects that impact and strengthen the Recruitment specialty, such as sustainability and diversity.

The Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region offers you:
- A one-year temporary position. If your performance is satisfactory, your position will be converted to a permanent position.

- Hours per week: minimum 28 – maximum 32.
- With an Individual Choice Budget (ICB) equal to 17.05% of your gross salary, you are free to make choices that align with your preferences and career goals.
