Controller
TEAM ED, a social employment agency, is a young, growing organization active in the social sector in Amsterdam, Amstelveen, and Haarlemmermeer. Its mission is to improve care and services by engaging and empowering people with lived experience. TEAM ED places people with lived experience in organizations and within its own services. The EDplaces (recovery workshops) are accessible meeting places offering recovery activities run by experts by experience. The Flying Brigades are small teams of experts by experience in the neighborhood, and the ExpEx are young experts by experience.
Due to the expansion of its operations, TEAM ED is currently seeking a controller. This is a new position within the organization. This means that TEAM ED is looking for an experienced controller who is eager to establish and shape this role.
TEAM ED consists of the TEAM ED Group Foundation, the TEAM ED Foundation, and TEAM ED B.V.
The organization as a whole employs approximately 18 paid staff members and 100 volunteers.
Work includes, among other things,
- Preparing the (multi-year) budget at the organizational and activity levels
- Assistance with grant applications and reporting
- Developing and monitoring the planning and control cycle
- Providing solicited and unsolicited advice to the managing director on the preparation of financial plans and the development of scenarios
- Managing and monitoring (external) financial and payroll administration
- Accountant contact person
- Designing, reviewing, and explaining management reports (forecast vs. actual, project reports, quarterly reports, financial statements, liquidity forecasts)
- Financial contact for partners
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in work methods and procedures and implementing them
We ask
- College or university level of thinking and work
- A degree in business administration or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of experience as an independent controller
- Knowledge of or an affinity for nonprofit organizations
- Experience with project administration
- Excellent communication skills at various levels
- Honest, accurate, flexible, resourceful, able to handle stress, dedicated, and inspiring.
