
FLOOR is the cultural platform of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. We are young, ambitious, and passionate. By creating programs that address current issues, pressing topics, and surprising perspectives, we bring education, research, and cultural and social organizations closer together. We do this through inspiring speakers, thought-provoking documentaries, engaging workshops, and critical (panel) discussions. Our programs and events are primarily aimed at AUAS students, but are open to everyone.
As a communications officer/online editor, you will be responsible for all of FLOOR’s communications. You will promote our activities in an engaging, clear, and recognizable way—often within a tight deadline. By resonating with our internal and external audiences through your communications, you will help build their loyalty to us.

You will be part of the FLOOR team, which works largely independently. Together with three program producers and a senior communications officer, you will help build on our success.
Since you’ll be working in a small team and a dynamic environment, it’s important that you quickly find your footing within the organization. This means you need to be able to keep an eye on the big picture, adapt quickly, and also pay attention to detail in the execution. Creativity, perseverance, and a flexible attitude are essential for this role.

FLOOR is part of the University of Applied Sciences Library. The UvA/HvA Library provides information services to students and staff at the University of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences through a (digital) library, educational and research support services, and a pleasant on-site study environment.
We are offering a position for 24 to 32 hours per week for a period of one year, with a two-month probationary period. This position falls under pay scale 8 (HBO collective bargaining agreement). The salary ranges from a minimum of €2,756.90 to a maximum of €3,691.27 gross per month for a full-time position.
If both parties are satisfied, the contract will be converted to a permanent position after one year. The AUAS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous vacation time and a year-end bonus.
