As a communications officer, you will be part of a team—consisting of a team leader, seven communications advisors, and two staff members—responsible for supporting all communications for AVROTROS and its programs. You ensure that communication runs smoothly, both internally and externally. You enjoy organizing, coordinating, and executing tasks, and you know exactly where to find the right information or images. You work in a structured manner, have an eye for detail, and switch easily between different tasks.
Duties and responsibilities:
- You will perform all operational tasks related to external communications;
- You will gather feedback on all of our (new) programs from producers and program managers;
- You will make press materials available in consultation with us;
- You will collect visual material and assist with organizing photo shoots;
- You will manage and maintain the press database, including an up-to-date list of talk show editorial teams;
- You will be responsible for the weekly mailings and comprehensive overviews for all media outlets, creating engaging and compelling content (such as promotional copy, teasers, and strong leads);
- You will be the primary point of contact for presenters and other media regarding program content and broadcast details;
- You will draft guide texts in accordance with guidelines (word count, style, specifications), based on input from communications advisors;
- You will perform all operational tasks related to internal communications;
- You will draft internal communications in consultation with others and ensure they are posted on the intranet, in staff newsletters, and other internal channels;
- You will support communications for several (youth) publications and podcasts;
- You will provide administrative support within the team;
- You will assist with communications related to (press) events.
Profile:
- You have at least a college-level education and way of thinking;
- You have relevant work experience in a communications role;
- You enjoy writing and have an excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
- You have a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude toward work;
- You are driven, hardworking, and willing to take a hands-on approach to projects;
- You enjoy working as part of a team, but are also able to take on tasks independently;
- You have an affinity for the media landscape.

At AVROTROS, as a communications officer, you play a central role within the organization and have the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. This is initially a one-year contract with the possibility of a permanent position. The position is classified in pay scale F, in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Broadcasting Personnel.
This collective bargaining agreement covers, among other things:
- A salary ranging from €2,798.65 to €4,424.96 gross per month on a full-time basis. This depends on your work experience;
- 8% vacation pay;
- 6% December bonus;
- Travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometer (up to 100 kilometers per day);
- The freedom to exchange holidays and use our prayer and meditation rooms;
- A group pension plan;
- A wheelchair-accessible building with modifications where necessary;
