Where will you be working?
For us, it’s all about learning and development—whether it’s for our students or for you as a future colleague. A work environment with a positive atmosphere and dedicated colleagues who guide and coach students every day in their personal and professional development as communication professionals. We don’t need to tell you that online communication and digital skills are now an integral part of our field.
We aim to be a program where inclusive communication is the norm and an integral part of our students’ skill set. Our future professionals are skilled in a form of communication that fosters connection and reduces polarization. They carry out their impactful communication work based on a solid understanding of an ultra-diverse and ever-changing society, equipped with strong digital skills and knowledge of relevant digital developments.
Our students develop into strategically skilled, flexible professionals with a vision for their field. In our small-scale, personalized educational program, the student is at the center. In learning teams, they learn to take charge of and implement their personal learning process; in project teams, students work on professional projects to develop their competencies. Feedback from instructors, experts, and fellow students, along with the student’s personal reflection, contribute to the learning experience. Ultimately, the student demonstrates the intended level of proficiency through a portfolio. You won’t find exams or lectures here.
As a lecturer/coach in our program, you will lead a wide range of educational activities in our Full-Time and Part-Time Communication programs, serve as a learning team mentor, provide feedback, and contribute to the development and improvement of our educational programs. In addition to your up-to-date subject-matter expertise, you will also bring experience as a mentor and coach.
We’re very interested in that. We’re curious about your talents and how you can use them to help our students and our program take the next step. A master’s degree is required. If you don’t have one but are willing to invest in getting one, please be sure to apply.
You will initially be offered a temporary contract. We will determine the scope of your employment in consultation with you (up to 1.0 FTE), as well as the start date. Extension and a permanent contract are possible thereafter. The gross monthly salary for full-time employment ranges from €3,018.49 to €5,332.48, depending on your education and experience. In addition, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for higher professional education (CAO-HBO), you will receive an 8% vacation allowance and a year-end bonus.
Please sign up for a speed date by June 28 at the latest. The speed dates will take place during the week of July 3. There is no need to submit a cover letter or resume. If you have any questions, please contact zwanet.draadjer@hu.nl (training manager).
