A brother who finds the courage to read his emotional victim impact statement. Parents who find appropriate post-trauma support after the murder of their child. Or a victim of sexual violence who finds the courage to file a report. Your work inspires people to take action. As a case manager, you make a difference in their recovery process, offer support during difficult times, and help them find their way again. Apply today to become a case manager at Victim Support Netherlands and make a lasting impact.
As a case manager, you are responsible for supporting victims of serious violent and sex crimes, as well as the families of murder and manslaughter victims. Due to the increase in large-scale cases and sex crime cases, we are expanding the team. After a traumatic experience, people often face not only physical or psychological issues but also financial, legal, or practical concerns. Case managers therefore provide intensive and long-term support in dealing with the consequences of the crime. In your role, you will ensure appropriate referrals to support services or agencies that can further assist clients. You act as a sounding board and central coordinator, dealing with unexpected situations, questions, and developments that may arise in a case. To properly support clients, you’ll be present in various locations, such as at people’s homes, at the police station, or in court. The work therefore requires a considerable degree of stress resilience and flexibility.
You translate the complex and emotionally charged personal accounts of victims and their families into concrete services. You regularly make home visits and provide support and information to clients regarding criminal court proceedings. In addition, you will be on call several times a year. You will be in frequent contact with the police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the progress of cases and, where necessary, maintain contact with attorneys, psychologists, municipalities, general practitioners, and other relevant parties. In cases involving large-scale caseloads, you will also fulfill a coordinating role.
You’ll be working in a close-knit team where you’ll be valued and where we’ll be there for you whenever you need us. You’ll also build a valuable network, both within and outside the organization. Plus, it’s incredibly rewarding to see someone get back on their feet or find new hope thanks to your help. You’ll also receive:
You have strong insight and combine this with a genuine concern for people. You find fulfillment in supporting others and are solution-oriented. In addition:
An online competency test and final assessment are part of the process.
