The position

As a municipal tax policy advisor, you will work at the

at the intersection of governance, politics, and organization, and you provide advice on issues

that directly impact Amsterdam. You are the first point of contact for

the administrator and acts on behalf of the Director of Taxes. You provide advice when requested

You will be working within the Amsterdam Municipal Tax Department, an organization that annually

collects and administers more than 1 billion euros in municipal taxes for the city.

The organization is undergoing rapid development and is collaborating more and more closely with

partners within and outside the municipality. You will be part of the department

Central Processes and Advisory (CP&A), which serves as a driving force for innovation

and development. At CP&A, you will join the Consulting team, a

a multidisciplinary team of 14 enthusiastic colleagues with diverse

specialties, such as tax and legal expertise, compliance, and communications.

What you bring

For the position of municipal tax policy advisor, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • At least 3 years of verifiable work experience as

    advisor in an administrative and political setting within (local) government.

  • At least 3 years of experience advising

    board members or executive management, including the preparation of administrative

    decision-making and consultation.

  • At least 3 years of demonstrable experience with

    drafting administrative documents, such as recommendations, annotations, or council documents.

What we offer you

As a municipal tax advisor, you will work for us at least 32 hours a week and

up to 36 hours per week, and you can count on the following

terms of employment.

  • A gross monthly salary ranging from €5,303 to €

    $7,163 (scale 12) based on a 36-hour workweek. The exact salary

    will be tailored to your education, knowledge, and experience.

  • A one-year employment contract,

    followed by the possibility of a permanent contract if you

    do not currently have an employment contract with the company, or have only a temporary one

    City of Amsterdam.
