The Governance & Strategy (G&S) department is looking for a colleague with initiative, courage, and a willingness to take risks to join the team. You are naturally curious about the internal client and are always looking for innovative ways to support the primary process—namely, education—from within your field of expertise. You are ambitious and always strive for the highest quality. You do this in collaboration with your colleagues from your own and other teams, ensuring that the services provided by the support departments align well with the needs of the educational community.
We are looking for a new TOPper for the Administration & Strategy department
Policy Advisor for Education & Quality Assurance (m/f/x)
for 32–36 hours per week for a one-year term, with the possibility of extension
Our B&S department employs 11 TOP staff members and focuses primarily on providing advice and support regarding organization-wide strategic issues in areas such as educational quality, a culture of quality, educational innovation, and ROC TOP’s positioning. The team consists of the educational policy and marketing & communications teams. The department has set itself the goal of achieving significant improvements in these key areas.
ROC TOP offers no fewer than fifty different programs, spread across four campuses at various small-scale locations in Amsterdam. Our instructors work together in teams to support the four thousand students, ranging in age from 16 to 60, personalized attention and tailored instruction throughout their learning journey.
The focus of the Education & Quality Assurance Policy Advisor is on quality assurance and organizational culture. You contribute to a culture of systematically working on quality and deploy a wide range of tools and interventions to achieve this. You advise and support efforts to optimally organize education and ensure quality. You do this, among other things, by helping to steer complex projects, such as the quality and leadership improvement initiative. Naturally, you will take into account external developments, legal frameworks, and quality requirements for vocational education.
Together with your policy colleagues, you will monitor the progress and implementation of the ROC TOP quality agenda. Within this program, you will serve as the lead for the topic “quality culture within ROC TOP.” You will also act as the point of contact for the Education Inspectorate. In addition, you will maintain contacts with the MBO Council and other MBO institutions, and you will represent ROC TOP in various networks focused on quality assurance and the strengthening and renewal of our education, such as the MBO Quality Network and the regional network in the field of quality assurance. You will also serve as an advisor to one of our campuses and manage other education-related portfolios, such as safety and school cost policy.
You possess advisory skills, innovative and communication abilities, and are able to collaborate proactively to drive innovation and improve the quality of education. You have work experience in education and possess a college or university level of work and thinking. You handle pressure well. Your responsibilities are diverse, which means you must be able to manage a heavy workload. You enjoy collaborating with others to enhance the quality of our education. You are able to inspire people to embrace change and quality improvement. Collaboration involves giving and receiving feedback. This comes naturally to you, which helps create a safe environment for this. You are curious and have a sense of humor.
We are offering a position for 0.8 to 1 FTE, based on a full-time workweek of 36.86 hours, for a one-year term with the possibility of extension. The salary is in accordance with the MBO Collective Bargaining Agreement and, depending on education and experience, is up to €5,229 (scale 11), gross per month, based on full-time employment.
The application deadline is September 2, 2022. The first interviews are scheduled for the second and third weeks of September. You can apply by clicking the "Apply for this job" button (this also applies to internal applications).
An assessment, reference check, and/or social media check may be part of the selection process. Submission of a certificate of good conduct is a requirement for employment at ROC TOP.
