Are you a financial expert with an interest in elementary education? And are you able to quickly assess the financial implications of new government policies and explain them clearly? Then come join our team at the PO-Raad!
What will you be doing?
As an advisor at the PO-Raad, you will represent the interests of school organizations in primary education. Together with a fellow policy advisor, you will analyze the financial implications of new government policies for school boards and schools. It will be your challenge to explain these implications in plain language to our members (school boards and staff) and colleagues. You will also advise the PO-Raad board on our members’ interests regarding funding and costs in various areas, such as the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), pensions, housing, newcomer policy, and inclusive education. You are also involved in issues regarding financial accountability by school organizations, so reviewing financial statements is no problem for you. You participate in consultations with policy staff from the unions, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), DUO, accounting firms, and administrative offices. To deepen and share your knowledge, you regularly exchange ideas with colleagues, school board members, controllers, and other stakeholders.
Who are you?
You have an affinity for education and enjoy thinking about the (financial) implications of potential changes in these areas. Knowledge of education funding is a plus. You’re also able to empathize with the members of the PO-Raad. You bring a fresh, capable, and enthusiastic perspective to the table and possess strong analytical skills.
