The Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region (VRAA) works around the clock to ensure the safety of more than 1.4 million residents. We do this through firefighting services, crisis management, emergency medical services, and a professional organization that supports these tasks. Within the Human Resources department, we ensure that employees can count on clear terms of employment, up-to-date information, and well-founded policies.
You will manage and update employment policy and HR documentation, ensuring that it is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to colleagues. You will also provide guidance on how to apply these policies. Finally, you will contribute substantively to (sub)policies on a specific topic.
You will report to a direct supervisor (coordinator or team leader) and work closely with your fellow policy advisors, HR advisors, and colleagues in the Management & Communications department.
You are detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, and enjoy bringing structure to tasks. You write in clear and understandable language. You interact easily with various colleagues and know how to handle confidential information with care.
At the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region, you can work with a great team where you’ll have opportunities to grow in your role.
As a policy advisor, you will be working within the HR department, which consists of nearly 40 colleagues. You will primarily be collaborating with our HR advisors and policy advisors, a group of about 10 colleagues.
