The team
You’ll be joining a friendly and motivated team of 18 colleagues who are passionate about providing quality care. Improving the quality of care starts with truly involving patients and their loved ones. To work in a patient-centered way, it’s important to listen to people on an ongoing basis: what are their experiences, wishes, and needs? The programs we’ll be working on cover a wide range of topics. They include quality, patient safety, patient participation, transparency, Shared Decision-Making, and outcomes-based care. These topics are relevant both within and beyond specialist medical care. There are many developments in healthcare now and in the coming years, in which the Dutch Patient Federation will play an important role and in which you, even if only for a limited period, will play a key role.
We are seeking a Patient Advocacy Advisor to cover the duration of our colleague’s maternity leave. During this period, the advisor will ensure the continuation of our activities and projects as part of the “Outcome-Based Care” program (see https://www.uitkomstgerichtezorg.nl/). Together with a colleague and our member organizations, you will contribute to the development of outcome sets for each condition within Line 1 (“greater insight into outcomes”) of the program.
Your responsibilities will include:
In addition, we ask for your help in updating the decision aids designed to help you choose the most suitable healthcare provider. We have translated publicly available quality data into decision aids for more than thirty treatments or conditions. These are updated annually with the latest data.
You’re a reliable team member. Someone who:
We offer a temporary and versatile position involving socially meaningful work at an engaging organization with dedicated colleagues. An organization where you can further develop your skills in substantive, strategic, and political areas. With us, you’ll build a valuable network within the healthcare sector.
You’ll find a team of colleagues where employees and managers work together in an informal yet professional manner. There is room for initiative and personal development.
We offer flexible working hours.
Depending on your education and experience, the salary is up to €4,927.00 gross per month for a 36-hour workweek (Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, Scale 10). You will receive a 5-month employment contract (June through October; if you can start a little earlier, we would very much appreciate it).
The Dutch Patient Federation offers attractive employment conditions, including an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) and a career budget. The IKB provides you with a budget that you can use as you see fit—either to receive a cash payment or, for example, to purchase additional leave hours.
The Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement is followed. Under the terms of the agreement, you are enrolled in the Healthcare and Social Services Pension Fund.
