Are you constantly learning and growing? Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Are you eager to make a meaningful contribution to society? Do you enjoy a positive work environment and working with enthusiastic colleagues who provide support to the libraries of North and South Holland? If so, we have a great opportunity for you.
Libraries are expanding their services. That’s why more and more libraries are opting for a Development Hub—a place where people can go for information, advice, and practical assistance. There, they learn language and math skills, how to fill out digital forms, and get answers to questions about work, benefits, and training programs. But not all libraries are there yet. They think an Ontwikkelplein sounds great, but they’re not sure exactly what services to offer. That’s where you come in to help guide them.
You’ll advise libraries that want to set up a Development Plaza. You’ll help them define their vision and explore practical ways to bring their plaza to life. Libraries collaborate with various local and regional network partners. Might they want to play a role in the Development Plaza? And what do visitors want? What would benefit them most? You’ll work with the library to figure that out. It’s possible that you’ll work at a library for a short time to help shape a Development Plaza. And you’ll share all the experience you gain at the libraries with the network, so our libraries can learn from one another. We’re already proud of the results.

In the coming years, we will be working closely with our libraries to focus strongly on language skills, digital literacy, and inclusion. Just like libraries, we feel a responsibility to help people and provide equal opportunities. A solid grasp of basic skills such as language and digital literacy is crucial. To support libraries, we are significantly expanding our education team. We have seven job openings. Feel free to share them with your network. Together, we can ensure that people find their way in the digital society and that no one is left behind.
Probiblio advises public libraries in North and South Holland. We assist them with research, provide new insights, and offer advice on digitization, HR, and their operations. Together with the library, we develop (educational) policies and support the library in implementing and ensuring their success. In doing so, we help libraries put themselves on the map. In addition, we transport books and materials. We are happy to do so. Libraries are incredibly important: they connect society.
