You’ll be joining theCollection Advisory & Programming team. Together with fellow specialists and collection and program advisors, you’ll work closely with libraries. We contribute to innovative program initiatives, themes such as citizenship and diversity of voices, as well as technological developments like the impact of AI on collection development. It’s a varied and dynamic role!
As a team, we also ensure that collection budgets are used wisely and effectively. We assist libraries with their collection policies and translate these into concrete collection profiles and annual plans. In addition, we curate comprehensive collections as well as specialized collections for schools, for example.
As a Junior Collections Specialist, you’ll start with a 6-month intensive training program, during which you’ll learn all aspects of the job on the job. After that, you’ll begin working more independently, and after a year, you’ll be a fully-fledged collections specialist. You’ll:
