This is where you'll be working

You’ll be joining a close-knit, energetic, and professional communications team consisting of a team leader and six communications colleagues. Together, we form the backbone of the organization: from internal communications to program promotion, from corporate issues to raising the profile of our presenters. And from (crisis) communications to organizing press conferences and premieres; together, we deliver high-quality work.

We are a friendly, informal, and professional team. We set high standards, but we value a sense of humor just as much. Everyone has their own projects and works independently. We contribute ideas and step in when needed. Our lines of communication are short, both within the team and across the organization. We’re committed, have a sharp eye for detail, work hard, don’t have a 9-to-5 mentality, and adapt quickly when current events demand it. What you will be doing

As an Internal Communications & Spokesperson, you’ll be the one connecting colleagues, bringing strategy to life, and taking internal communications to the next level. You’ll ensure that colleagues know what’s going on, understand the decisions being made, and feel like they’re part of the bigger picture.

As the value and necessity of public broadcasting have increasingly become the focus of public debate, we are explicitly strengthening the team’s role in providing social context and promoting fairness. This position therefore places a strong emphasis on communication regarding social issues, organizational change, and serving as a spokesperson on sensitive matters.

Internal communication is the core of your role (60–70% of your work)

• You identify relevant social trends and contribute ideas on effective internal communication;
• You translate strategies, plans, and developments (such as our brand positioning, but also, for example, digitalization and innovation) into clear and engaging internal communications;
• You actively gather news and feedback from within the organization and know how to communicate them effectively;
• You will oversee communication efforts related to organizational changes, such as digital transformation, to ensure that colleagues understand what is changing, why, and what it means for them;
• You highlight successes, but also make it possible to discuss challenges;
• You encourage dialogue within the organization and help ensure transparent communication during times of change;
• You organize internal meetings and develop and implement initiatives that strengthen our organizational culture;
• You keep the department head informed and advise them on current developments within the organization;
• You will be responsible for ongoing internal communication through channels such as newsletters and organization-wide updates;
• You manage the internal communications inbox.

In addition, you will serve as the spokesperson when necessary (30–40% of your work)

• You are aware of social developments;
• You carefully prepare press statements in collaboration with the relevant communications advisor or team leader;
• You draft Q&As and statements;
• You identify reputation risks and opportunities and proactively advise the department head on these matters.
• You will work closely with editorial teams, management, and fellow consultants to ensure that our internal and external communications are consistent, accurate, and strategically sound.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a strategic and dynamic internal communications professional with a keen sense of organizational structure and internal dynamics. Someone who thrives on fostering a sense of community, develops creative ideas, and brings them to life from concept to execution. You are able to identify, interpret, and act on signals from within the organization, and to shape communications around high-stakes corporate issues.

• You have an uncanny sense of what’s going on within an organization and aren’t afraid to ask probing questions, even when things get uncomfortable.
• You easily connect with colleagues who know how to reach you.
• You have a strong sense of social responsibility and understand the role and responsibilities of a public broadcaster in society.
• You enjoy actively contributing ideas on how we can shape our internal and external communications regarding social issues and public affairs in a thoughtful, transparent, and meaningful way.
• You have experience with (corporate) public relations
• You are able to distinguish between what is essential and what is secondary, and you maintain a clear overview in a dynamic environment where current events and internal priorities constantly shift.
• You work independently and take ownership of your projects, but actively seek to collaborate with colleagues, editorial teams, presenters, management, and executives.
• You write with ease and creativity and know how to strike the right tone for every message: from brief internal updates to strategic communications on sensitive issues.

Here's what we offer

In addition to a challenging position within an ambitious and creative organization, we offer a one-year employment contract for 36 hours per week, with the possibility of extension. The position is classified under pay scale H, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Broadcasting Personnel. This agreement includes, among other things:

• 8% vacation pay;
• 6% December bonus;
• A travel allowance of €0.21 per kilometer (up to 100 km per day);
• Option to work partly from home;
• If you are a full-time employee, you are entitled to 25 days of vacation per year, to be scheduled in consultation;
• A health insurance allowance of €52 gross per month;
• The freedom to exchange holidays and use our prayer and meditation rooms;
• A wheelchair-accessible building with modifications where necessary;

The procedure
