Can you translate data and figures into a clear, accessible narrative? Would you like to help inform parents and other interested parties about primary and secondary education? The VO-Raad and PO-Raad are looking for a web editor who can write accessible content for our various websites. We’re looking for someone who is curious and meticulous and enjoys telling the story behind the numbers. Are you looking for fun and smart new colleagues whom you can support by contributing to the content in a flexible and timely manner? Then apply now.
Together with the PO-Raad, the VO-Raad develops several websites to support accountability for schools, school boards, and partnerships in primary and secondary education. The largest website is Scholenopdekaart.nl, which had more than 1.5 million visitors last year. On our websites, we present figures and information about students, schools, and school operations. In addition, we publish an annual sector report that provides context for relevant figures. We believe it is important that our websites and reports are clear and easy to understand. We collaborate extensively with other public entities that collect information about schools, such as the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), DUO, and the Education Inspectorate.
You are responsible for the content on our websites and in our industry reports. You will work on the content in coordination with the subject matter project leads and project team members. We operate on short cycles, which means you’ll need to deliver texts quickly—and be ready to edit or improve them as needed. You’ll collaborate with the development team to ensure the content integrates seamlessly into the website.
You find website development interesting and relevant, and you’d like to contribute your expertise to this field. You enjoy collaborating with others and brainstorming ideas for content. You’re familiar with the language of education and can articulate it effectively. We work together using Scrum, which means you can quickly ask colleagues for help and always know who’s working on what.
In summary, this means:
You are eager to learn and detail-oriented, and you want to further your career as a web editor in the education sector.
