Do you already have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and want to start working as a police leader in the Zeeland-
West Brabant Unit? The accelerated bachelor’s program in police leadership begins in January 2025. Through this fast-track program, you’ll learn and
work in a real-world setting. This will allow you to gain extensive work experience that you can immediately apply to your coursework. Upon completion of
the work-study program, you will have a recognized police degree, and we guarantee you a job.
Your area of expertise
A defining feature of the Zeeland-West-Brabant unit is its geographical location, bordering Belgium,
between the Rotterdam and Antwerp regions, with the ports of Vlissingen and Moerdijk serving as European
external borders. Combating cross-border crime remains an ongoing challenge. The
operational area consists of both urban and rural areas, with the associated forms of
organized and subversive crime. In the integrated approach to the various forms of
crime, there is intensive collaboration with a multitude of internal and external partners in the
investigative domain.
Who we're looking for
- You hold a full-fledged, accredited bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences or a research university.
- You do not yet hold a basic police diploma, with the exception of police volunteers\*.
- You are familiar with social and safety issues through your studies or work experience.
- At the start of the selection process, you must hold Dutch citizenship (this may also be your second citizenship).
- Within 9 months of starting your program, you will have obtained a Class B driver’s license, allowing you to immediately begin taking the course modules and driving proficiency tests. If you do not yet have a driver’s license, you can apply for the driver’s license subsidy.

- You demonstrate leadership.
- You recognize people’s habits and cultural backgrounds. To connect with everyone who needs us, we need police officers in our frontline teams who come from diverse cultural backgrounds, have language skills, and have networks within local communities. This ensures that everyone in our service area feels represented by their police force and feels comfortable approaching the police.
The selection
Before you can begin the bachelor’s program, we assess the required qualities and competencies during the selection process. The selection process consists of:
- Check your application (minimum requirements)
- Online testing (cognitive test)
- Intake interview
- Sports Test and Verification Test on the Online Tests
- Psychological research
- Medical examination
- Screening
