In this dual role, you will work 5 days a week (3 days for KIDD and 2 days for BonteHond). As an educator for the KIDD program, you serve as a bridge between art and education. You will develop, supervise, and support arts education projects for schools in Almere. In addition, as an educational staff member at BonteHond, you will be involved in the organization and implementation of educational programs related to theater performances.
Art Is Closer Than You Think (KIDD) is a multidisciplinary art and culture curriculum for children in grades 1 through 8 and in secondary education, from PrO to VWO. In addition, we offer a curriculum for the teachers and teaching assistants of the future. KIDD makes children aware of art and culture in their own environment—with Almere as the primary source of inspiration—and helps them discover that art is part of their lives, of the streets and the city where they live, all around them.
BonteHond is one of the largest youth theater companies in the Netherlands. From our colorful office in the heart of the vibrant city of Almere, we collaborate with professional artists—including actors, directors, technicians, and musicians—to create theater productions for children.
We try to highlight everyday themes as much as possible, so that our performances resonate with everyone. We tour all over the country and even beyond. We visit theaters and schools, but we also perform at soccer clubs and festivals. And we do so much more! For example, we develop art classes for elementary schools in Almere, create YouTube series, produce podcasts for and by children, and occasionally write a children’s book. We don’t like to be pigeonholed and believe it’s important to keep evolving.
Your main responsibilities:

- Updating and Innovation: You know the KIDD program inside and out, actively respond to developments in society and among cultural partners, and develop (new) lesson modules for KIDD either independently or in collaboration with the other educator.

- Support and Development: You will train new artists, provide instructional support, and guide teachers and partners to create the best educational experiences.

BonteHond (2 days a week):
- Organization and Planning: You will coordinate workshops at schools and create schedules, taking into account everyone’s availability and the unique needs of schools and teachers.

- Practical Support and Management: You will provide support for educational projects and ensure that everyone involved feels heard and supported during the implementation of activities.
- Theater Instructor: You will develop and lead theater workshops—designed to complement performances—at schools and in theaters.
