With over 4,300
students, the largest university of the arts in the Netherlands and one of the
largest educational institutions focused on art, culture, and the creative industries
in Europe. HKU offers a wide range of programs spread across nine schools.
Art and Economics (KE) is a Bachelor of Arts program at
the Utrecht School of the Arts and is part of the Higher
Economics. An economics program under the umbrella of an
arts university offers a distinctive combination and gives us a

KE students and professionals are passionate
about art and culture. They develop and implement innovative solutions
to support creators and organizations in the arts and culture sector, and
help highlight and harness the value of art. They
use their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and organizational skills to help art
thrive.
What will you be doing?
As a tutor, you will guide students in their development into reflective,
resilient, and independent-thinking professionals within the arts and culture sector.
You will also be assigned to two core modules in the first year of the
program:Professional IdentitiesandStudio 1: Creative Processes.
Tutor:
- You will guide students in building
a portfolio and formulating a well-reasoned study plan tailored to their
development;
- You will hold discussions about personal
development and encourage students to explore career options;
- You encourage the development of
study skills such as planning, reflecting, communicating, and providing feedback;
- You identify academic delays, track
progress, and work with the Dean’s Office to provide personalized support when necessary.
Instructor, Professional
Identity:
- In theProfessional
Identitymodule,you will help
students explore their professional attitudes, future prospects, and
professional choices. You will teach them how to apply reflection models;
- You teach theories of collaboration,
group dynamics, and reflection, and create a learning environment in which students
can actively practice these skills.

Workshop 1: Creative Processes:
- InStudio
1,
youguidestudents as they explore and consciously apply creative processes;
- You help them gain insight into their own
creative practice, thinking strategies, and sources of inspiration.
What are we looking for?
- HBO-level academic and intellectual ability;
- Experience with higher professional education and guiding
students through their learning process;
- Knowledge of and an affinity for reflection,
group dynamics, and the development of professional identity;
- Experience with creative processes and/or
your own creative practice is a definite plus, with a view to working inAtelier
1;
- You are skilled at teaching
study skills and mentoring both groups and individual
students;
- You work with precision in administrative tasks and
reporting;
- Preferably, you have a teaching
certification for higher professional education;
- Available in Semester 1 on Mondays,
Tuesdays, and sometimes on Fridays. In Semester 2, only Tuesdays are set.

strong reflective skills and know how to foster these in students as well.

and teaching, have strong communication skills, and are attuned to group dynamics.

and artistic development.
What do we offer?
For this position,
we offer a salary in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for higher professional education (CAO-HBO) as well as attractive
employee benefits:
- The gross monthly salary—depending on education and experience—
for full-time employment ranges from a minimum of €4,174 to
a maximum of €6,360 (scale 11), excluding an 8% vacation allowance and a year-end bonus (8.3%);
- This is a temporary position starting on September 1,
2025, for one year, with the possibility of extension;
- The
employee benefits are excellent, including a generous leave policy,
membership in the ABP pension fund, sports and recreational facilities, and a
commuting expense reimbursement program;
