Are you a master’s student who has (almost) graduated and wants to dive into the consulting field? Are you ambitious, socially engaged, and curious? Do you want to help a friendly team solve complex and socially relevant issues? And do you want to work at an organization with short lines of communication and plenty of exciting projects? Then Berenschot’s traineeship is the perfect fit for you!
The Berenschot traineeship offers a year of intensive learning and personal development. You’ll work four days a week on client assignments, under the guidance of experienced consultants from your team. In the process, you’ll learn a great deal from your new colleagues and grow in your field. Every Friday, you’ll participate in the trainee program alongside trainees from other advisory groups within Berenschot. The rest of the week, you’ll shadow Senior Consultants on their projects. You’ll take courses in advisory skills, participate in peer review sessions, and work independently with a group of trainees to complete an assignment for a client. In addition, there’s a strong focus on personal guidance and coaching.
You can immediately apply the insights and skills you gain from the trainee program in real-world situations. Conversely, you can bring the challenges you encounter on the job back to the training sessions and coaching meetings. This way, you’ll significantly expand your knowledge and skills in a short period of time, and your own initiative and ideas are very welcome! Within a year, you’ll get off to a flying start in the consulting profession! Have you completed the traineeship? Then there are plenty of opportunities within Berenschot to advance to a consultant role.
Berenschot advises a wide range of clients, from nonprofit organizations to for-profit companies, and from startups to large, established Dutch firms. In short, in this role you’ll encounter many different types of companies, each with its own culture, character, and dynamics.
As a trainee at Berenschot, you’ll start in April or October and get off to a flying start in the consulting industry within a year.
As a trainee, we’ll involve you in a wide range of projects where you’ll work directly with management and senior leadership. The projects you’ll work on will depend on the consulting group you’re assigned to. Examples include projects such as:
As a trainee, you’ll be a jack-of-all-trades: you’ll conduct analyses, conduct interviews, give presentations, help draft reports and proposals, and take on various roles in internal and external projects.
Upon completion of the Berenschot traineeship, you will have:
You will be working in one of our consulting groups. Berenschot has six consulting groups: Public Administration (OB), Healthcare and Social Development (ZMO), Energy and the Environment (EL), The Future of Work and Organizations (TWO), People Services and Solutions (PSS), and Business and Data Solutions (BDS).
You’ll be working with a wide variety of people. This includes your fellow trainees, your coach, and your colleagues within the consulting group, of course, but also colleagues from the other five consulting groups! Who you work with on assignments depends entirely on the assignment you’re currently working on. But you’ll always carry them out as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Our consultants are all intelligent individuals with strong opinions, grounded in solid knowledge and professionalism. In addition to the serious work, there is plenty of room for humor, camaraderie, and fun activities, such as social gatherings and work meetings at unique locations. There is also Jong Berenschot. Its purpose is to connect young colleagues with one another, as well as with the organization as a whole. Jong Berenschot serves as a platform where all Berenschotters are connected through a variety of activities organized by a young delegation from Berenschot.
Berenschot is a diverse group of individuals with varied backgrounds. That’s why we focus primarily on whether you’ll be a good fit for the team. Above all, we’re looking for a healthy dose of energy and enthusiasm, combined with curiosity and the ambition to grow in the consulting profession. You enjoy working independently but are just as comfortable collaborating with others, and you take the initiative. In addition, you have:
