The better we understand our target audience, the more effectively we can work toward a world where every child can be a child. As a Technical Web Analyst, you’ll help us do just that. You play a crucial role in translating online behavior into insights that lead to better user experiences, smarter campaigns, and more engaged donors. Through your work, you’ll not only take our data to the next level—you’ll also increase our impact on children worldwide, as
Technical Web Analyst (32 hours per week)
You'll be working on this team
You will be working in the Digital Experience Team at UNICEF Netherlands, which is ultimately responsible for all aspects of our website. The team consists of a lead, a CRO specialist, a website manager, and a web specialist. You will be the technical linchpin of this team—from tagging to reporting.
You’ll also be part of the data team, alongside two data engineers. Together, you’ll manage the entire data architecture and ensure the integration of both online and offline data between Optimizely, Google, and the Microsoft data platform.
These are your main responsibilities:
- Technical Foundation: You will design and maintain data layers, tagging structures, and measurement plans. You will configure events and conversions while consistently ensuring quality and privacy compliance (GDPR). You will also be responsible for maintaining the Google Cloud Platform and monitoring data quality.
- Data engineering & visualization: You will extract data from sources such as GA4, Meta, and Google Ads and load it into BigQuery. From there, you will build dashboards in PowerBI or Looker Studio that provide insights into website behavior and campaign performance and are immediately usable by your colleagues.
- Conversion optimization: You will expand the tracking capabilities of our website in tools such as GA4 or Optimizely and provide support for personalization projects and new releases.
- Knowledge Partner: You’re not just a “builder,” but also a trainer. You provide advice on integration with marketing platforms (such as Dynamics 365) and train colleagues to work in a data-driven way.
- Sparring Partner: You will maintain contact with our external measurement agency (DEPT) and serve as a technical expert for your internal colleagues.
Here’s what we’re asking
- Expert-level knowledge of GA4, BigQuery, and Google Tag Manager.
- Dashboarding: You have experience with Power BI and Looker Studio.
- Technical expertise: You have a deep understanding of how data collection works for websites and social media, how to integrate data platforms via APIs, and you’re skilled at setting this up technically.
- Strong communication skills: You make technical topics easy to understand and apply.
- Experience with Optimizely is a plus, particularly in the areas of Experiments, CMS, and the ODP (CDP).
