Would you like to use your knowledge and skills as a team leader to help an enthusiastic team reach their full potential? Do you have a keen eye for what people need to do their best work? If so, the role of Team Leader at the Dutch Intangible Cultural Heritage Knowledge Center (KIEN) is the perfect fit for you.
What will you be doing?
As a team leader, you will serve as the manager and primary point of contact for 15 staff members—a close-knit team of heritage advisors, research associates, a communications officer, and an office manager. Each member brings their own expertise and a deep passion for the field of intangible cultural heritage. Together with the director of KIEN and the team, you will develop the annual plans and budget for the following year during the summer. As a unifying force within the team, you know exactly when to step in and offer guidance without feeling the need to micromanage every detail. You’ll do all of this within the inspiring setting of the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem.
Your duties and responsibilities:
- Managing KIEN’s team of 15 employees, including overseeing the performance review cycle and serving as the primary point of contact for all questions from the team.
- Work with the director and the team to develop departmental and team plans.
- Coordinate daily operations and ensure smooth progress.
- Motivating, coaching, and developing the team.
- You are responsible for ensuring effective communication within the team and with other departments at the museum.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and results of KIEN’s projects, processes, and budget, and, where necessary, make recommendations for improving internal processes.
- You will meet regularly with the director of KIEN to discuss the progress of projects and processes, budgets, and team performance.
