As a team leader, you will work alongside the program managers and other team members to oversee the programs designed to foster an inclusive and healthy sports environment and to bridge the gap in sports participation—for example, among people with disabilities, those with health vulnerabilities, and individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. In this role, you are responsible for achieving your team’s goals and ambitions. In addition to guiding the content, you play a central role in the development of individual colleagues. You are also responsible for promoting the organization’s culture, including by guiding (desired) (daily) behavior in line with the values of NOC*NSF.
As a passionate and experienced D&I specialist, you will be responsible for leading the internal diversity and inclusion policy and implementing effective strategies to promote diversity and equity. You will also perform these duties in an advisory capacity for a select number of sports federations that, following a consultation and in order to meet minimum quality standards, wish to elevate their internal organizational policies to a higher level.
What will you be doing?
Team Leader:
- Coaching employees working on programs and projects within the Inclusion & Health Team, with a focus on achieving team goals and personal development
- Developing a multi-year plan, annual plan, and annual report for the Inclusion and Health team, including specific goals, outcomes, and financial accountability
- Work with the team to provide support to sports associations, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
- Promoting collaboration, both within the team and across departments
D&I Specialist:
- Analyzing the current state of diversity and inclusion within the organization and sports federations, including the collection and evaluation of relevant data and statistics
- Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy, in line with the Sports Agenda 2032 and taking into account current trends and best practices
- Promoting an inclusive organizational culture by facilitating training sessions and meetings (both organization-wide and through coaching and training managers and team leaders)
- Work with the manager, HR staff, and recruitment specialists to develop and implement inclusive recruitment and selection processes
We offer
- Initially, a one-year temporary appointment (with the possibility of extension)
- 32–38 hours per week
- Salary scale for Project Manager, Level 12, according to the Sports Collective Bargaining Agreement (salary depends on experience)

- You have proven experience (at least 3 years) in leading teams and implementing diversity and inclusion programs within an organization
- You have an interest in health-related topics and want to engage professionally with issues such as smoke-free sports, responsible alcohol policies, and healthy eating
- You have a strong connection to "vulnerable" groups and are willing to go the extra mile to involve these groups in the development of sports policy
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, making you a natural team player, both internally and externally. You foster a positive work environment and approach your work in a structured and organized manner
- You know how to motivate the Inclusion & Health Team and the NOC_NSF staff to achieve success, and you enjoy celebrating these achievements with the entire organization
- You work proactively and with a focus on results, and you are able to drive innovation and make decisions based on a clear vision
- You are a strategic thinker and can translate this into long- and short-term strategies and action plans
- You have experience in fundraising and financial management
- With your warm personality, you are able to coach people, build relationships, and collaborate effectively
Departmental Goal
